Expressway busses for Matara,Galle,Katharagama,Kadawatha start from here.No much facilities though it is populated bus stand close to colombo..Public toilets,resting areas,food courts more need here..i visit here usually on the way to my home and university.So i see the things that have and not.

One of the biggest Bus Stands you will find in Maharagama with places to with bus numbers of 280 - Horana to Maharagama / 297 - Sikuradapola to Maharagama / 124 - Ihalabope to Maharagama / 993 - Malabe to Maharagama etc also on the highway bus section to locations of Meegamuwa / Aluthgama / Mathugama / Panadura etc cheapest way to travel long distance with semi luxury buses. Sadly incase of Emergency toilet facility of the Maharagama public toilets are very poor but manageable.
If you are thinking of going long distant travel by using Highway bus station section make sure that you are on Fridays / Saturdays / Sundaysresponse / report this review -

Regular AC bus to the south is the only thing of note. Galle in an hour or so. Better than the train at any rate.
