The place is great with nice scenery. Although we had a bad experience there because the foods they serve as the dinner was spoiled. We try tell it to them but they didn't bother to listen and we had to complain to the higher management to correct this. The whole thing was really unpleasant.

Nice architecture and great setting with views to the beach from every room.
Unfortunately the resort is not well maintained and needs a general refurbishment. Sometimes elefants visit the place in the night and of course many other animals as well.

this hotel is perfect for families. we had several different suite options to choose for and grate service. hospitality is very high. service is very friendly. very tasty food. amazing view . clean highly security.

Very nice place and architecture with a magnificent view of the Indian ocean. Beautiful infinity pool going over into the ocean view. Good kitchen.

Short and quick review: Resort with an excellent view however hotel management needs tremendous improvement. We were pleased with the suite with fantastic ocean views and at the same time hot water was not working, AC stopped working and there was minor leak in bathroom. It’s expected from hotel management to verify the rooms/suites before arrival of guests which was missing at laya safari.

Excellent place to stay if you are visiting the Yala Park premises. Wonderful architecture with the pool overlooking the sea. Good food and a friendly staff. Beware of sea baths in front of the hotel. Overall is a value for money and and a reasonable lodging option.

I can recommend this hotel - If i come back to Yala I will stay here

Friendly staff and good service

I highly recommend you to have the hotel to arrange your breakfast and lunch box if you are going for full day safari. The tour company, well, the hotel food is much better.

And here at Laya Safari they are very helpful with your requests

But could need some maintenance

Should be against the law to have a nice place like this and just let it fall in to decay. The rooms are very nice, but why not put some light in the room. It is very dark and you cannot work on your desk top

But the staff rectified this. Same, leaving the room at 5 in the morning and it was pitch dark. I asked them to keep the light on during the night and so they did

The bathrooms are beautiful with stone walls. They should have put stones on all the concrete. Would have been beautiful, now it looks like a concrete apartment block from East Germany in the 70's

This is a very nice place. Nice and quite view. Beautiful rooms. Accommodation and food are fine. Classy. Exceptional. But the crew is not thorough with their subject. Since army manages this I prefer if servicemen work in this or supervise these civil staff. They have less experience in hospitality and the service or civil staff is not up to the standards. Plus the way they talk should be more polite. That's the only bad thing. If Army can maintain these standards that would be great. Had a great time here. Thank you.

My favorite hotel perhaps in the world! Wildlife within and exquite views within meters of my bed! Lay in the modern bed with windows in 3 directions facing the beach, sit on the large Lshaped couch in your private reading alcove or out in the deck! My favorite is sunrise walks looking at he footprints discovering what animals walked to the beach next to my bed in the middle of the night: elephants, leopards, wild hogs and tons of birds. I'm a clean freak and this was the most immaculate room I stayed in for two weeks in Sri Lanka. The dinner buffet was huge with selections from every area of the worldate on the deck overlooking the illuminated pool. The ratings on here that say it is dirty and has limited food selection I think are fake reviews. Could not be more opposite!!

Shocking hotel!
Neglected, souless, dirty, rusting, piles of woodworm dropping on the bed.
Peeling paint on all wood outdoor furniture.
We walked out when we had tried 2 rooms both with disgusting dirty frayed old carpets on the bedroom floor!
Cockroach in reception.
Nothing good to say about this hotel!
We were relieved to check out!
Our worst hotel experience ever!
So disappointed.

Excellent views with beautiful sea side access. Great for planning safaris and a place to relax with loved ones or family. Food is good but limited availability. Has got little huts which are brilliant for quiet moments.

Excellent Hotel in amazing beach front. We stayed in Thicket Villa and its a very nice,clean & spacious room. Thicket Villa is the Superb way to be close to Mother Nature.

Infinity pool looking out over the Indian ocean and its very clean. There is a pool boy in every-time for your safety, pool towels are clean & very large.

Foods are delicious and during our stay they had buffet meals for lunch, dinner and breakfast.

Front Desk and all the Staff are truly friendly and very helpful. Compliments to the chef for tasty foods.
