It's been closed permanently, still can visit after getting permission from Mullaithivu Army commander. I visited this place on 5th Nov 2018.

Not closed yet (as mentioned below). Even locals arrived by bus to see the vessels and submarines. It is a restricted area guarded by the army but we had no problem getting in.

It's interesting to see how local people and authorities treat this place.

This is a quaint little place near Mulaitivu bearing testimony to the long war. Quite a few marine equipments are on display and it's a wonder only how these were made without the test facilities of a defence lab. Probably energy and knowledge used in the wrong direction.

Army keep that place clean and nice. But I do not like that place. Because those instruments belongs to LTTE and they are terrorist. Thank you so much Sri Lankan army for giving peace to all Sri Lankan. Both Sinhala and Tamil people.

An open air museum which used to be an LTTE dockyard which was used to manufacture ships and small submarines and it showcases the remains of a work in progress medium scale submarine along with other boats, shells and guns. I doubt the artefacts will survive for long considering how badly corrosion and weathering has taken effect.

For those interested in the history of Sri Lankan civil War, this place may be of interest. However, the metallic war remains are so badly damaged and scattered as junkies to not reveal any meaning to the visitors.

This is a another great achievement of Sri lankans.. Same as Dutugamunu , Kashyapa , etc, this Dockyard tells a historical achievement of Sri lankans.. Though Indian RAW organization misled the , Sri lankan Tamil community to take arms against the it own county, the achievement is great. These Sri lankans, made a dockyard , and designed and developed a submarine which could fight against the SL navy .

This was ltte's submarine making and testing yard. After victory of srilankan forces sl army is looking after this place. You can see how much strong the LTTE naval forces.

Former LTTE construction yard, now turned into an open air museum. There's a large selection of military equipment including submarines, ships, shells and heavy artillery. There's is not much information given about each individual piece but there is a board on the way in giving a brief history of the place. In 2009 a fierce battle took place in this site which you can see evidence of with bullet holes and explosion marks on some of the equipment

There is a small shop on site staffed by the military. Also recommend seeing the remains of the Fareed ship a couple of km down the beach

Some pictures from Mullaitheevu Felt was not appropriate to post during the visit This place has been converted to a open concept war museum (Free entry); seems this place was used as a launching pad for Self-Built Indigenous War crafts and speed boats..

Was pretty impressed with their work on underwater crafts.. technologically might had been old but with the resources available they had done an impressive job at it..

Old Sea Tiger (LTTE Terrorists) submarine workshop. After the SL Army captured this place, it converted to a War Museum. Nice place to visit,learn about the history about the 30 years of Sri Lankan War.
