Great place and a lot of nature. Monkeys and so. Recommend to visit for understanding Sri Lanka. But if you are foreign tourist, be aware of cheater guides - they will try to take money from you for everything without tickets and taxes. Demand them for papers.
And there a lot of blood sucking worms - not dangerous, but not pleasent too.

Just 15minutes drive from city of galle, you will be amazed by the change of environment within just a short drive from.a.city.
A full scale ever green rain forest with plenty of little streams and a natural pond.

It was absolutely great. A pool in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and natural habitat. The prices are also very fair, 100 per hour for the locals and 300 for the tourists. There are changing areas also.

Very nice place. if you are planning to go there remember April 1st is reserved. You can reserve the place by paying 10000 for a weekday or 15000 for weekend.

Very good and calm place near Galle town. You can absolutely feels the comfort immediately when you enter this forest. Nearly two kilometres of road right in the middle of the forest. Middle of the road there's a restroom and some villagers selling local food and drinks. Natural swimming pool is created inside the forest and easily accessible. Enjoy the rainforest and please don't do any harmful to the forest.

Easily can access to this rainforest from galle. There are lot of species of trees can be seen. Among there are many dipterocarpus hispidus trees( helicopter trees) they are about 400 years old. There no not much animal to see but few types of lizards.

Diversity rich low land rain forest. Visitors can see some rare plants there like Lagenandra jacobsenii an endangered ketala sp. at the entrance. You can reach there by getting Udugama bus from Galle bus stand. it wil take around 40 mins to reach there. And one another thing there are so many leeches there.

This is a one of tropical rain forest in down south Sri Lanka. It has various founa and flora, natural swimming pool, walking tracks, tourist information center and meny more. I suggest this place to nature lovers for day outs.

Kottawa Forest Reserve which is situated about 20 km off the exit point Pinnaduwa towards Udugama. This is an isolated patch of low country rain-forest displaying all of the features of a typical wet evergreen rain-forest. When I was there on 23 April around 12:30 pm, the chirping of the birds and natural sounds were soothing.

However, sad situation is that this is neglected and Sri Lanka Tourist Board and Southern Province Tourist Authorities should take immediate action to make this a tourist attraction. Sad state of affairs!!!
