One of the best and sincere police officers I have ever met. Someone robbed money from my hotel room and I had to lodge a complaint at kollupitiya station. The police assigned a constable (Erandha Sir) who can communicate in Hindi and Sinhalese to look into the case as I am an Indian. Constable Erandha Sir and Sub Inspector Karunasena Sir accompanied me to the hotel and inquired each and every person. The police responded quickly, found the stolen money and the person within 2 days.

I would like to convey my sincere thanks to the Crime branch of Kollupitiya station especially to Officer-in-charge CI Silva, Sub Inspector Karunasena and constables Erandha, Vijayakoon, Sanath, and Silva.

Heard rumors or real.. Illegal arrests and detentions made by CID Officers. Be careful roaming around cleopatra Night Club. These officers arrest clean people and file a case as a ganja smoker.

Located next to famous temple trees. In the past Rajapack reign this was the point where even pedestrians were stopped. By force. And made to cross the road. High security zone was the then argument.
No reasonable expectation was ever given. Since 2015 however all is calm and relaxed now.

I went there on middle of the 2016 and faced difficulties to get police clearance for my wife. The major problem was the language barrier. There is no interpreting services for tamil speaking people. It's really hard. I hope they could consider this issue and might appoint a tamil speaking officer on the front desk.
