Booked a family room with AC but got two separate rooms without AC. Bathrooms are not clean and not anywhere near tourist standards. The owner charged over LKR 10,000 for two local meals which is extremely unacceptable. Has hidden charges as taxes, service charges which is then a room price is not as it's advertised. Not worth for what you pay for. Very disappointed.

Nice, friendly owner and nice place, but I didn't appreciate the 3 dollar "city tax" on the room (I asked for a price before and they quoted 8 dollar) and 10% "service tax". No one likes these negative surprises and pricing should be transparent. Drinks and breakfast were a bit more expensive than the other place I stayed too

Pros - Natural Ambience. Cottage type rooms.
Cons - Lots of Mosquitoes, however each bed has net fitted. Light in the bed rooms are not so bright. Fish food was not available during the whole day however staff did promise same for dinner. Provided other pallate on dinner even after ordering fish item. English was not clearly understood by the cooking staff besides they expressed affirmative to every communication. A lovely experience, Malik will do everything as possible to make your vacation on top of your wishes.. He is able to have almost everything you need and will do this with pleasure.

Beautiful place with great hut style rooms. The real huts made from natural materials are also cheapest option next to lagoon and ocean. Owner and staff very helpful and offer diving, wind and kite surfing amongst others.

I want to talk about kites.
So, basically, where I come from they don't have kites. If they do have kites, they use them in a bad way - like for trying to attack the moon and stuff it's harmless, sure, but it's ****ing irritating. Especially for an enthusiast. (kites, not moon - though nothing against the moon. it's just there)
I first got 'into' kites when I was about 11. Maybe 10. I saw one, and it was flying around on this thin piece of string and I was thinking "wow! what's that?" and then someone told me "that's a kite, son" or something like that. And I was just kite-crazy from then on - they called me The Kite Spooner (I used to sleep with my kite!).
In the late 90s I started to get serious - really grave. About all kinds of things, including the way general expenditure at the state level was being diverted into costly projects not clearly benefiting the majority, but also the way kite-flying was being overlooked as a source of recreational income. I got angry. Really angry.
After that, I started to hate the wind. It reminded me, I suppose. It seemed to mock me when it tousled my locks and I was sometimes on hills when it caught the underside or side of my clothing and gave the impression of lifting me up - I felt like jumping. I FELT LIKE A KITE!!
In the end, I went to a specialist and they told me about the 'door' but I wasn't ready. Not then. I made something with sticks and a friend of mine has some linen. He's a Hindu. Then we went to the hill and just waited. Of course, we didn't wait long. It was incredible - first the gust just lifted it up, like some sort of bad bag. Then it soared up like a crazy crow, and just started dancing around in the sky like a super-comet. I was mental happy.
