An ancient buddist temple located in ridiyagama area.the access road is under construction.the visitors are allowed only during day time.buddist monks are doing meditation in the chambers.you may not speak loud when visiting.a very calm and peaceful environment.beaware of monkies around the temple.

This is found after traveling 16 km on the Ambalantota Ridiyagama road. It is located on the balance mountain. This was known in the past as the Billava Temple. It is also called as the Karadu Lena . There are a large number of caves. The Tooth Relic has been temporarily deposited here. Many paintings by monks can be seen here. Many caves are currently being renovated. As a result, their situation has changed.

Must visit ancient Buddhist cave temple. You can climb to the top of the mountain and view is really nice. It is few kilometers of gravel road, but can travel my a car in the dry season. Could be challenging in the rainy season.

Quality.
Few/ no tourists.
NO entrance fee ! ( Rarity in Sri Lanka ).
Three beautiful white structures at top , including SURREAL BUDDHA !
Enjoy monkeys, small turtles in pond along the way .

Religious place. Visit with extreme caution. There are buddhist monks doing meditation in this area.
As well as mokeies who love food. Be careful.
Top of the temple you can see 360° Hambanthota airport , Magampura Harbour and few tanks. ( Don't use this road to visit Mirijjawila Botanical garden except you are wishing some off road adventures)

Forest monastery with meditating monks. It's not place to visit for fun. Better not to disturb them. But if you are really enthusiastic about Buddhism and meditation venerable monks will help you.
