  Great location at the beach with friendly, helpful and always smiley staff. Rooms are basic but kept clean with A/C which is a must for me. Food in the restaurant was fresh and always tasty. My favorite was dhaal curry.There is plenty to do around during day and friday night disco next door. Our kids were so tired from the daytime activities they fell asleep before the music starts. We had great time at Unawantuna. Thanks Full Moon.

  Low cost. Less parking space. Good sea foods. Beautiful beach. Ordinary cheap rooms. AC available. Not much comfortable. Sea bath. Coral view. Boat ride. Crew is good.

  Served crêpes when the menu said pancakes, and we even asked specifically before ordering just to avoid that case. "Yup," the waiter said, holding his hands about a centimetre apart, "they're about this thick." When they came, they were around a millimetre, as crêpes are wont to be.
  
  The toilet also failed to flush properly, leaving some poo stuck in it.
  
  Long powerouts are normal in this part of the world and normally I wouldn't hold it against the hotel — it's out of their control, after all — but on top of these other things, I thought it worth mentioning.
  
  On the plus side, rooms are named after Italian towns, which is a cute gimmick. The staff were also nice and friendly, and apart from the crêpe incident, the food was nice.

  Beautiful place run by a local team of people who are always smiling. Owned by italians the place is maintained well. Clean rooms and very specially clean bathrooms. The food is quite good and has maintained a very good carbonara since inception. Love the plae good for a long or even an evening getaway.
