Wonderful place to stay at. Quiet place where you can relax, listening to the sounds of peacocks, monkeys and frogs. Writing about the monkeys, they made their playground of our terrace which was funny to look at. The only "problem" was that the staff doesn't speak English very well. There were just too many misunderstandings when ordering food, massage or checking out.

Hotel is away from any amenities. Hidden in the forest.

Food was awful. I’m vegetarian and was disappointed with the room service (snack menu) and dinner which was a set menu. With only one restaurant (pure veg) and no shops for miles it was the only choice available.

Service was poor even though the waiters did try hard and I felt sorry for him so gave him a big tip.

They serve beer & wine even though Trailfinders who we booked though said it is doesn’t serve alcohol.
Wine was poor quality albeit 5,000 RS (£25) same levels as a £5 Bottle of ‘echo falls’.

We were hungry after dinner as the food was not worth eating.

The rooms were large and empty. Design and layout lacked taste. Positives were air conditioning and clean.

Set across 50 acres of land and no activities or a bar this hotel really has nothing to offer.

I think this is the best place for go on a honey moon night. Just kidding.. haha. Anyway I have no words to explain this place and everything. Simply the best Resort in Sri Lanka. This resort is situated in a forest , Area is 50 acres. They haven't cut down a single tree. They have adjusted their architectural designs with the natural habitats of the tree and all the rooms and cabanas are situated 10-20 feet up from the ground level. So even you can see the Elephants and Deers there. Normally full-board room with a private pool cost LKR 50,000 with breakfast. Without private pool it will cost around LKR 40,000 as i remember. But As well as there is a huge swimming pool which has the shape of "Kuttam Pokuna". As well as there is a restaurant, meditation center, Spa, Library.. Most of the doors and other ancient statues are too old like 200 years most of them are from all around the Sri Lanka. And this is a famous Sri Lankan film location which has used for several "Raja Kale Katha" :) Most of the workers are villagers. The way they welcome us to the resort and then to the end of the days, their services are superb. All credit goes to the creator of this place S.Sivakanth Sir :)

I love this place!!! It is like the Sri Lankan olden days. The food is awesome. It is so beutiful and there are so many beautiful places, like a meditation centre and a great pool. The people are so kind and I love the rooms very much. I learnt so much about Buddhism and really want to learn more. I recommend this for everyone. 5/5

    Summary:
-Stunning architecture, unique hotel with wonderful pool, spa, meditation space in historic style of the city.
    - extremely clean
    - helpful & friendly staff
-Vegetarian food only, good quality overall in romantic setting. At times menu, at times buffet available
-Rooms are spacious and very clean, beds are comfy and have lovely net-wrapping (though you don’t really need them). Air condition seems small but I very efficient & sufficient
    - multitude if animals found on the ‘jungle’: giant squirrels, monkeys, peacock, Indian squirrel, Tuscan, trees covered in butterflys, pheasant,

    Improvement suggestion:
    - water pressure in the slower is low
    - internet is very slow (only connection option as there is no 3/4G anywhere in the city here for Dialog even)
    - spa was apparently closed during the time we staid (3 nights) the spa is one of the main reasons you pick this place would have liked to know in advance.
    - could add yoga classes or something to do in the hotel. Anything !

The architecture of this place is unique and fantastic - the swimming pool is a must. Vegetarian food is good and staff v. friendly. You walk to your room on elevated walkways from which you can see the wildlife in the trees and on the forest floor. Not easy to find your way to the various parts of the complex, particularly at night; however, the hotel staff will escort you to the right place. An unforgettable experience.
