Could be much better for the price and amenities. The food was not great either, but did get to see the dolphins. Was there in early 2011. Hopefully they have improved.

Not good enough for the price asked. Wind turbines aren't everyone's idea of scenery. Beach isn't all that nice, either for swimming or sunbathing, not least because of the coal dust related to the nearby power plant. Food is excellent - particularly the excellent and filling Sri Lankan breakfasts - communication with the waiters needs to be patient and thorough, though they are trying hard and generally friendly. Accommodation is good but overall Dolphin Beach doesn't deliver enough to make it worth the price.
