Had an amazing dinner here, the food came on time and was absolutely amazing. Best fish I ever ate! The atmosphere was also very relaxed and casual. Can recommend!

Despite our special deal for 2 rooms, we thought that the two rooms (close to the beach) were absoltly not worth the price. Both rooms were very small, dark and smelly. Our main issue / reason to check-out earlier was that the toilets were not working appropriate!!! Overall it was too over-priced!

The beaches in this area are like nothing I've experienced before - you can swim out into the sea for miles and it is crystal calm; just beautiful. And Coconut Beach Lodge offers you a perfect stepping stone and spot to stay right on the beach. We got the last room left and it was a small extension, but it offered everything we needed and the staff were consistently lovely to us and so accommodating; special mention goes to the lovely in particular. Very special memories here - do stay!

Very slow service and food its just ok, we are still looking for the chiken on the chiken sandwitch.

Really lovely place. Right on the beautiful sandy beach. Need flipflops or beach shoes as sand gets very hot! We staying in the annexe and is very basic but has air con/fans, complimentary water in rooms, safe, laundry service (priced per item - I found cheaper in town per kilo), loan of beach towels. The cost for us to stay per night for our room is 5,000 rupees for double room which is approx £25 per room (not including breakfast). Can get breakfast in same complex - not too expensive. I think rooms in the main building include breakfast, but can't be certain. Worth asking on arrival. Very friendly staff and will help in any way. We also went whale and dolphin watching and saw some whales and lots of dolphins. We were lucky apparently as it's not guaranteed. You will definitely enjoy your stay here. Great place for chilling out and working on your tan! Not much water sports going on but can get boats out for diving and snorkeling. Enjoy!

Definitely avoid if you are hungry.
Had to reserve earlier the same day and prepay to have Sri Lankan curry. When we arrived at the reserved time we still waited an hour for the food and they then served the wrong curry. The right curry eventually arrived and was pretty good, but not worth the price and wait. Any drinks ordered took 15-30minutes to arrive or did not arrive at all.
Friends that ordered with us waited more than 1.5h for their food and asked multiple times.
Staff is extremely unorganized. View on the beach is nice.response / report this review -

Pros: Nice enough looking place, cute beach huts, restaurant, a well kept garden along the building with cheaper rooms and a villa-esque building at the rear with 4 rooms. We stayed in room 3 which was a bit dark but otherwise ok, enough storage space, spacious and nicer than average bathroom, a four poster bed. They give you towels for the beach which was a nice bonus. The night receptionist was the sweetest. Helped us with all our questions and was willing to go above and beyond.
Cons: The restaurant was a bit weak for seafood (overcooked tuna when requested medium), rice was smelling really strange, and had a funky taste (when asked they said it's butter), slow service. Too expensive for what you get. Laundry service rather expensive. But the worst thing was when we saw a mouse/rat on our bed one evening as we came in. The night guy immediately gave us the only other room available as it was already late to be calling the cleaning lady. The next morning the manager working was very nonchalant about it, didn't even say sorry. We didn't really feel like staying after this so booked ourselves into a fancy hotel in Nilaveli to end the trip on a high note.response / report this review -

We´ve been waiting for our food for about 1 1/2 hour, and after we asked again they finally brought it after another 20 minutes.
Glasses empty for an hour, nobody checks, service - not there in anyway.
