It will take two hours to get to the top of the mountain, From top of the mountain you can experience a breathtaking views and beautiful sunrise 🌅

Bible rock (Batalegala) is an ideal choice for a one day hike if you are going from Colombo. The flat surface at the top, which resemble a book has given its name "Bible rock". The view from the top is marvellous. It is very windy at the top and that cool sensation is incredible. The tranquility of the surrounding is blessed by the ruins of the temple which you can see at the top of the rock. Good for camping, but it is dangerous on days with heavy rain and lightning. Climbing is not that hard and it is not exhausting if you start it before noon. It would take a maximum of two to two and half hours and then you are on top of it, enjoying the beauty and serenity.

Me and my friends went hiking here few years ago. I'd say difficulty level little less than moderate. Its pretty peaceful since not much tourists come here. There are no hard fast trails that is very prominent. But you can make your own way up without disturbing the undergrowth or any animal life. There is a temple (Aaranya) at this rock.

Great place for a one day hike. It's exhausting if you try it close to noon. So it is better to start as early as possible.

Bible Rock (Batalegala in Sinhala language) is a mountain near Aranayake in Kegalle District in central Sri Lanka. It is known as the "Bible Rock" as its surface resembles a book/bible. Due to its prominent flat top surface, it resembles the more famous Sigiriya citadel located more north of it.
