If you are travelling with your family, want to party or you want a romantic escapade this is the place to stay. Great location with the bar and restaurant on the beach, private shady spot, great fresh cooked food and friendly staff. Totally recommend it!

We heared about this place from a "local" Australian which we met in Arugam bay. Great place, impecable rooms and a great newly installed pull. Indika the owner, his wife, Fiyona, their son, Dylan, and the staff where very warm to us our children played a lot with 1.5 year old Dylan. When we left to the train station we forgot some spices we bought and they had one of the staff drive especialy to the train station to deliver them to us.
In short, simplly amazing. So much kindness!

We only came here for a drink because a contact has suggested it. Food was okay, not too big portions.
It overlooks a very wavy beach and there's no shoreline, we also spotted a turtle bobbing in and out. you have to walk a few meters on the side and climb a section of sand to be able to use the lounge chairs that is well shaded under trees, and it's usually full.
Walk a few more meters down the shore and you can park and sun yourself in front of small establishments with locals eating/drinking.
Be careful swimming in the sea as it can get really turbulent and dangerous in the afternoon.

Amazing place, Great people. In short the best place to stay and have food in Matara. The location of the hotel on the beach offers a nice beach and relatively calm waters for swimming.
