Government own cancer hospital in the country. Whole staff providing excellent care and support all the patients. Multiple bus routes to reach the hospital and connecting roads are maintained well, easy access. Inside parking only for the staff. Outside parking available, for a nominal fee. Facility maintained well, and regularly cleaning can see.

My mom is in 24th ward. I really appreciate the service of all doctors, nurses and minor staffs. 99% nurses are wonderful human beings and 1% of nurses showing their aggressive way. If balance 1% can be wonderful to patients you will definitely get their blessings. Coz you all are such amazing part among us.

One and only safe haven for the cancer patients in Sri Lanka. It has modern medical facilities and medicine for the cancer patients. This is a state hospital specially for the cancer patients. Hospital welcomes any donations as they have limited capacity and facilities to serve the patients.

I just cant believe whether this is in sri lanka or not. My grand mother was admitted and how they take care of her. It is just unbelievable. And not like other hospitals they provide meals with a plan.

And they use updated technology and everything is new.

Happy to see how they take care of patients.
Building design also very creative. I was bit confused with finding the ward but you can see people helping each other and doing their job all around.

Happy to see this place in sri lanka❤️

One of my closest relatives is admitted. I really admire the care and commitment shown by doctors and nursing staff to the patients treatment is free.

The clinic complex is very busy owing to the sheer number of patients. It may take 1 to 2 hours before your name is called in. But once that part is over, the remainder is not that difficult.

I’m so glad my tax money is being used for something as noble as this.

If one of your friends, relatives or someone you knows has a cancer, you may be inquiring his/her ailment when he meets. Anyhow give priority to talk about other topics not related to cancer. Because people going through treatment sometimes need a break from talking about the disease. Most of them may have been fed up with this word.

Now there is no more a "Cancer institute" in Maharagama. There is an "Institute of Hopes" called "Apeksha Hospital".

People must visit this place. To see those children's faces,to listen to their stories. Support them anyhow you can. U can bring watermelon,'thambili', medicine they want, toys and stuff for children. Please make sure that those things won't harm them anyway.

The main center for cancer patients in Sri Lanka operated by SL government. The doctors and staff here taking care of its patients really well and have most of the facilities for cancer treatments. They treat both adults and children.

Donations are accepted here especially for the children's wards. Anyone can donate medicine, milk powder, toys etc. Need to get the approval from hospital authorities before distributing to patients.

Apeksha Hospital, early named as National Cancer Institute, Maharagama, is the premier tertiary referral hospital dedicated to the diagnosis and follow up treatment of cancer patients in Sri Lanka, which is under the control of Department of Health, Provides all its services free of charge.
The NCI offers a full range of modern diagnostic facilities necessary for the identification and confirmation of all kinds of cancers. Specialized therapeutic Care, such as Surgeries, Chemotherapy, and Radiotherapy, are provided on the supervision of the Consultant oncologist.
The NCI functions as a training center for undergraduates of Colombo, Ragama, and Sri Jayawardanapura medical faculties as well as for the post graduate students of PGIM.

This is my 1st visit to Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama (Previously named as Cancer Hospital). And I couldn’t imagine that was an hospital, it’s architecture was so attractive. I visited here with my friends for almsgiving.
If you have idea to give a treat, this is the best place. And please note that, Don’t take any photos of any patient. And also they don’t allowed.
