Staff are very friendly and the facilities are great. Clean and comfortable rooms. Food is fantastic and the buffet has a good spread. Really enjoyed the stay will my family and the little one enjoyed the most.

A truely wonderful location. With quality in abundance. 1 buffet style restaurant and an a la carte.the beach is 25 metres from the bar. Hospitality is second to none. worth checking out.

Spent 5 lovely nights at Avani. A really great stay. Just a shame that after leaving a piece of clothing there and calling the day after 'nothing was found'. A little bit unusual as the clothing was in the room.

Avani is a beautiful property right at the beach. The property is well maintained largely however there can be some evening mosquito and due to the greener pastures just outside the rooms we also observed a cockroach in our room. Also the staff needs to be better prepared to handle guests and also needs more training in English language for better service. The rooms are big and very comfy and the property otherwise is clean.

Expensive compared to other places 10% service charge added to EVERYTHING.

Nice pool decent rooms good food

The trains at 5.40am , 6am, 6.30 am will make sure you are awake for breakfast they sound horns and the whole place shakes as they go by

Not enough to doo in Bentota itself though stay in Galle instead..

A lot of rooms in the property and also a lot of room for improvement too. Guest relations can still go a long way. A great place to relax in general but can be better given the reputation. Towels and toilet maintenance can be improved a great deal. AC maintenence in terms of sound could help a better sleep quality.

A relaxing 5* hotel with two fantastic pools, walking distance to the beach and a buffet to die for.

stayed here for a couple nights and it was fantastic. One thing to look at was the attitude of some of the bar staff around the pool, as I found them a bit rude some of the time.

The main buffet restaurant for breakfast & dinner is superb. immense variety, exotic flavours and at a high quality. Dinner was one of my best meals in SL and I stayed in some very nice hotels all over the island.

Will be back again.

Couldn't speak highly enough. Was a perfect evening with a marquee set up on the beach for all 12 of us. The food was incredible. It was a really beautiful evening and everyone couldn't do enough to look after us. Thank you so much

Room 202 was indeed huge and wonderful. Direct access to the poolside and beach. Clean room with bathtub. Cozy and spacious. Ample essentials to last for my visit. Paradise.

Horrible experience staying at this shabby resort. No proper pest control. Rooms had ants and insects crawling everywhere. This was the case with even the common areas of the resort. Such a yuck feeling !!

Staff were rude and untrained. No staff to take House keeping and Spa phone calls. All managed by Reception which I thought was funny and unprofessional. Given they charge so much for this kinda shabby resort.

Lastly, while checking out, as we were a large family, all kids got thirsty and asked for water at the reception area. They flatly refused to give water to kids saying get it from room if you have any left. This was most insensitive behavior from the staff.

DISASTER: Unruly, untrained, uneducated & Rude staff. Good Location but property in shambles. Fraudsters running this hotel. check bills carefully. SPA and Property in Poor state. Be ready for argument when you point out their wrongdoing. they are running a Sea-side Shack not a Hotel. YOU WILL FEEL STUPID AFTER BEING HERE. Our worst experience in Sri Lanka

Nice place directly at the beach. It's a little worn down but the rooms are clean and comfortable. A lot of restaurants around the place provide a good choice of food. Breakfast was very good but prices in the hotel are way to high for Sri Lanka and the staff could be a little more customer oriented (they are happy to organize an overpriced airport transfer but would not connect you with other guests that are leaving at the same day).
Minus 2 stars for enrolling me into several hotel newsletters without my consent.

good place to have a relax time. Located very close to the benthota railway station. Friendly staff, rooms were nice, good food and friendly staff. Also the beach's not crowded.

This was our second stay here. We came back because we really loved our first time here. But the hotel services are truly terrible now.
Whenever you approach a staff for something they refer you to someone else. We asked three people for a mosquito coil before we could get one. The second day we asked for one, we were referred to two other people, were told we would get one but it never came. At a restaurant we made a booking over an hour ahead. But when we got there the restaurant people said that since they did not themselves take the call we did not have a booking. Then they sat us down on chairs drenched in rain. When the food came some of it was overcooked. The rooms were also not cleaned in time. The whole management of the hotel is uncoordinated and no one wants to take any responsibility for providing a service.
The hotel location is great and the layout is also nice, but the service here is really a shame.

Its right next to the railway track so lots of disturbance. The rooms had ant problem also. Rooms otherwise are spacious and the service is nice.
