Beautiful garden and very calm and peaceful atmosphere! Delicious breakfast in the very pretty garden. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Accessible also for disable people.

Great place with a great host. The place has a big garden with places for relaxing. The surrounding nature is very calm and quiet. The room was very clean and well kept. The beach is very close to the location and is about 500m if you take a shortcut from the front of the hotel.

Spent two days from 17/9 to 19/9 with my wife and it was great the Owner Mr Arul and his wife made our stay very comfortable the staff are very helpful the food was awesome the crab curry, the prawn curry and Lobster were out of the world and very reasonably priced the best place to stay in Batti I have previously stayed in two star class hotels in Batti but Ashram is better than the so called star class hotels I recommend this place to anyone who wish to have a peaceful holiday and enjoy the beach which is 3 minutes walk from Ashram will visit the place whenever I come to Batticalo

The perfect stop for the honest traveller wanting to experience the real Sri Lanka, taste it's flavours, engage with its people, get to understand a little of its history and its culture, and enjoy true hospitality. The fact that it's a 5 minute stroll to some beautiful breaches and vistas ain't bad either. While not prestige accommodation (there is plenty of that being established in the region too), it's very clean, well kept and comfortable. Add to that Arul, his family, team and network of fair and honest suppliers (drivers, snorkeling, fishing, etc) and you have a wonderful, well priced, experience for you and and you family.

Amazing find, great hosts, tasty food!
Only a short walk from the picturesque quiet beaches, ashram accommodation was one of our favourite spots in Sri Lanka.
The setting in the well kept gardens was very tranquil and a short walk to a shop and a couple of restaurants.
The food at Ashram's was so good too, homely Sri Lankan and more than enough.
Clean large rooms with either fan or a/c.
Highly recommend this place for a couple wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle.response / report this review -

It has the most relaxed atmosphere in town. Arul the owner is so friendly and nice. We took only breakfast there - our best breakfast yet in Sti Lanka. Thank you very much!

If you are not looking for luxury this is the place. A very homely atmosfery with the best food in Sri Lanka. Arul and his british accent will help you in everything telling you where to go, how to go They can provide you free bikes but to go to any of the beaches you just need to walk for 3 min Once again, the simpathy and the hability to help will brighten your stay in this place.
