My wife and I honeymooned there. The staff are amazing, the restaurants are very good with a variety of meals available at each, and the atmosphere is something you will never experience anywhere else. I absolutely reccommend the private dinner on the beach, it is worth the money (you get a 5-star, 8 course meal for a very affordable price). My wife and I miss St Lucia and hope to return to the St James Club in the future.

Came here on our honeymoon and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room and amenities were sufficient, but could be upgraded. The quality and selection of food at each restaurant/buffet was great. The drink/liquor selection could be expanded to include higher quality brands. Overall, I was impressed with the resort and will be recommending it to others.

Beautiful Island. Good food at the hotel and the staff were amazing. Beach was tricky and often closed due to high waves. Rooms very clean and quite pleasant but a bit dated.

Amazing resort with fantastic staff. Lots of activities to keep you busy during the day and The food on the resort was delicious; I enjoyed every meal.
The only negative thing I have to say is that all the restaurants close at around 10:30. If you're up late there aren't many options for a late night snack.response / report this review -

We were having a good time on our honeymoon until Hurricane Maria hit. We were forced to stay an extra two days and St James Club was not very accommodating AT ALL. We were forced to pay extra $300 per night because no bus or taxi services were even available so we had no choice but to stay we paid $600 total for watching movies all day, locked up in our room and getting fruit and fried chicken brought to your door, also they had a no alcohol period at this time it was a pretty crummy way to end our honeymoon.

3.5 Stars As an All inclusive the dinning is restricted, No chair or pool side service. It's more serve your self. Food good to great. Staff 95% friendly 5% sullen. Snacks not many. Hill top rooms best. Views beautiful. Good place to rest and read, snorkeling. Not much off resort. Joy Tours Great deal see guide by beach check out shack.

I went to St. James with my fiance (a trip we had planned before we got engaged) and it was a wonderful trip. It is very difficult to not enjoy a week on a tropical island with the person you love. Which is why this review gets two stars instead of one.
Cons:
When we arrived our room wasn't ready for 90min. (We did get recouped for this as in the Pros section)
Our air conditioner never really got the room properly cold, and we were often uncomfortable overnight.
THERE ARE NO CLOCKS ON THIS RESORT!!! Litterally, none. Not in the rooms, not in the lobby, not at any of the restaurants. You must bring your own time piece everywhere.
Everything started late. Now whether this was because of island culture, or because THERE WERE NO CLOCKS, I cannot say. But at one point I did hear a small child cry to their mother that they were hungry and none of the restaurants we're open.
The staff were never really accountable, with a few exceptions they generally we're polite but rarely gracious.
One of the bars (the Sunset Lounge) smells like vomit, urine and beer. I think there's something wrong with the sewage line?
The food!! There were no really healthy options. Literally a waitress critically questioned why we were eating the heartiest greens we could find (spinach dressed in oil (why!?)) Because to her it was "to bitter". All of the desserts were terrible, small dry, and tasteless. Most of the food had so much grease it was difficult to finish a serving. I know most reviews rave about the Tree Tops pizza place but honestly it was just alright, and not worth the hike up to it (it also opened late). (La Jardin was an exception which I'll address in the Pros.)
All of the drinks were sugar based. You could get beer, but it was limited to Heineken, and local beer. But really having so many/much sugar was immensely dehydrating, along with the Caribbean sun, at times it was actually hard to get enough water.
THEY STOPPED CLEANING OUR ROOM.
Now I don't go on vacation very often, but I understand not changing the linens or towels daily to reserve water. I also understand that the house keepers usually have a block of time to clean the rooms during the day. But our room remained unserviced for 4 days until we had to ask several times for sheets and clean it ourselves.
Pros
It's beautiful. Truly a carribean island is a wonderful place to spend time with the people you love.
The beach is VERY gentle and warm. If you have children they won't be swept away.
Full open bar from 10-midnight, they do come serve you on the beach.
La Jardin restaurant was fantastic!! Amazing service and truly inspired food. We actually got our entire dinner and drinks there complimentary to make up for our room being late, which was very nice.
Lack of wifi encourages you to unplug, and enjoy the spectacular location with the people you're with.
Water sports and other activities at the resort are easy to join, and pretty popular. The water arobics class is particularly jumping.
The beach cookout is delicious, and a fun time with dancing after.
The fogging (fumigation) is effective and we didn't get any bug bites really.
Swim up bar is fantastic with seats there to let you just park up without leaving the water.
The adults only bar is super fun, with the best views of the sunset and better alcohol than the rest of the resort. Usually someone orders shots for everyone and it's a very relaxed feel.
It takes some looking but you can usually find seating on the beach or pool side, so rarely just a towel on the ground.
Really I cannot emphasize the beauty of this island, and the carribean in general. From the forest to the beach, with the bay and the bursting vegetation and growth everywhere. It was a magical place to spend time.
Overall we look back on this vacation with a smile, but would not return to this resort again.response / report this review -

Nice place and the food was really good. The only thing this place lacks is signage. There was always someone telling what you can't do after it was done and this all stemmed from the lack of direction at check in. Otherwise very clean place and very good staff after check in.

Not enough restaurants where you can sit and order off the menu. After paying $2,000 for all inclusive, we still had to pay $35.00 per person to eat at a nice restaurant. Mostly buffet. The drinks are watered-down. The food is not spectacular, it's okay. No ATIM on site so if you need money, you have to take a cash advance on your credit card fir a fee. Or go out of the resort to find one. Now you have to pay for a cab to get there. So come prepared. The excursions are good, lots to pick from. The rooms are ok. Need new furniture. The folks are very nice.

This place was fantastic. Everyone was very kind and enthusiastic. If you're going, make sure to do the Soufriere excursion on the resort's boat, the "Calypso Cat." The food was incredible, as well. I really can't say enough nice things about this place. They made our honeymoon a vacation to remember, forever!

Wonderful time. The people were very kind, though a few felt they had an attitude and were a bit snobby. Great food, different theme every day. Pool and beach was nice to sit in the sun. Beach was not clear though, sandy. Room service was ridiculously expensive (Most other resorts offer free room service or at least just the cost of food) for a slice of cake it would cost me 16$ plus tax! Also the fancy Le Jardin restaurant should be free at an all inclusive. Tree tops pizza and pasta was amazing to say the least. Water and beach sports were very fun, water aerobics and volleyball were very fun.

We absolutely loved our honeymoon at St. James's. They were very helpful and made our stay a dream. The room was amazing and clean. The excursions were so much fun. We had a blast with the nightly entertainment. The food was so good! And last but not least, we had a great time interacting with the amazing staff and bartenders. They truly made us feel comfortable and welcome to their resort and country. Thank you so much!

Nice resort with friendly staff, good restaurants, great views. Situated right by the beach with 3 pools. The all-inclusive was very worth its value. There's only one option for entertainment at night (outdoor bar with live music), which is a down side. During the day, there's plenty of excursion options, like boat tours, hiking, mud baths, snorkeling.
