Went there for a honeymoon a few years back and had a great time. The resort and rooms was super clean. Their were a few options for food and all of them were really good. The only downside is if you are going for a special reason like a honeymoon, so is everyone else. It seemed more like a spring break than a honeymoon. All the guys were at the bar and all the women were laying in the sun.....lol. Overall, it was . great time
I can't put into words how much I felt like I was on vacation. It's been a long time since I could say that. The staff at the Sandals Grande is beyond exceptional. I absolutely loved every person that work there. They were so accommodating and wonderful!
It is a two hour drive to the resort so book a helicopter, it only takes 12 minutes. The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff is amazing, extremely accommodating and friendly! So far the best Sandals we have stayed at. You can reserve a beach cabana for $130 per day but request # 1-5 as the others are too close to beach chairs. This includes you’re own private waiter to stock your private cooler! Special shout out to Gilbet George from Sandals booking in the resort- he gave us an amazing deal to book our next trip to Grenada! He priced out a few Sandals on different islands and went out of his way to give us a break down on a few different islands- He is the bomb ☺️and we give him ten ⭐️’s. The restaurants are amazing with Gordon’s on the pier being our favorite. Beware of the Pub...it seems as all the misfits of Sandals staff works here and they are horrible. Food was good but the service gets a big fat F !
Depends on what your looking for. Beautiful beach, calm and warm water. Tons of restaurants, amazing staff, clean and updated rooms, water sport rentals, great food and butler service is amazing. Only downfall is that it's a little far from the airport (approx 1.5 hours drive) with winding roads and that the resort is a bit loud and busy due to being a smaller sandals location (land wise). Still overall amazing but I gave La To a five 🌟 review over this due to preference but read my review of La To as well if you would like a comparison.
My wife and I had the time of our lives here for our honeymoon. What a wonderful time, great excursions, fantastic staff, awesome food choices. The Indian restaurant called Bombay was the best of the bunch for dining. Truly fantastic. The beaches where pristine. Watch out for some salesmen on the beach during daylight hours however. Great selection of entrainment at night to keep your busy. Pool area is nice and large with a great swim up bar that keeps the rum flowing all day!
Best vacation ever. All inclusive means everything transportation, top shelf drinks, food, entertainment and great service. This resort was quite and the weather perfect. We had such a good time we planned our next trip with Sandles.
Wow! Impressive from the moment you walk into the main lobby! The beach was amazing; in-water swings & giant blue thrones make for fun photo ops.
The over-water bungalows have a spectacular view of sunset.
Countless ways to relax; hammocks, lounge chairs pool side or beach side, under tiki huts or umbrellas, around the fire pits...
11 restaurants to choose from.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable, the gardens are luscious and colourful; exactly what you expect from Sandals.
Went here on a honeymoon. Probably the best vacation ever. Stayed in a concierge sweet. Anything you want from drinks to food. Beautiful beach. Would definitely go back.
Since this trip we have been to Sandals,at Turks and caikos and would pick St Lucia over that again.
Pretty much the best place ever. Tasty drinks? Check. Wonderful beaches? Check. Lots of things to do? Check. Beautiful landscape? Check. Friendly people? Absolutely!
The nicest of the Sandals resorts, but there's always that bunker mentality that comes from all-inclusive, such that you could be anywhere. The anodyne nature of Sandals makes it warm and comfortable if this is your first time further than Florida, but St Lucia deserves the more adventurous type of tourist. If you have to stay here, at least take the daily tours to spots around this beautiful volcanic island, or just walk up the road to Pigeon Island and find out how Admiral Rodney launched his most famous battle from there
I'd rate this place 3.5 if I could, but rounding up as the staff and facilities were pretty good. Food was better than average for an all inclusive resort, but it's far from spectacular. Great range of free watersports and evening entertainment was enjoyable. Some of the guests overindulged on the drinks during the day and it felt like a frat party at times. We stayed at another resort in St Lucia that was far more classy (and far more expensive), so you get what you pay for...
This place was great. Drinks were perfect, food was amazing, and service was very hospitable. Without a doubt, Sandals Grande St. Lucian, is most definitely a five star resort. That being said, I booked a room for my honeymoon, which had a walk out patio to the garden on the first floor. During the evening, while celebrating our honeymoon, my husband decided to look out the patio window. As he opened the curtains, there was a Sandals employee on our patio, watching us through the crack in the curtains, with both hands up trying to see inside better. He was startled by my husband’s sudden appearance, and tripped on the ledge as he ran away. My husband was calling after him, as he ran into the bushes towards a bike path back to the lobby. When we called for security, someone finally came after numerous phone calls to the front desk, a good 20 minutes later. The security officer wasn’t prepared, or even asked what the employee looked like. We had to provide her with a flashlight from our phone, and offered to give all of the information ourselves when we weren’t asked. When investigating the patio, we even requested that she didn’t step on top of the wet boot prints left behind by the Peeping Tom. After investigating for only a minute, she stated that her “shift was over and had to leave, so the supervisor would return soon.” Another 30-45 minutes and two more phone calls to the front desk later, her Supervisor finally came. They said they would upgrade our room for our comfort, but it wasn’t an upgrade at all. Just a move to a higher floor. They also forgot to deliver our honeymoon package, and that took another call to the front desk as well. Maybe it’s because we didn’t pay for butler service, but they didn’t do much to resolve this issue, or set our minds at ease. Regardless, this situation that happened isn’t Sandals’ fault, but I don’t think we will spend this much money to come again. Perhaps another resort would have been more accommodating.
We stayed at Sandals Grande St. Lucian from December 1st through the 9th in 2017 for our honeymoon and can’t recommend the property enough. Right from the airport we were catered to, with drinks and food and an immediate shuttle ride to the property. The ride was rough, but the driver was in high spirits and even stopped for a beer ‘refresh’ halfway through the ride! Once we arrived we were greeted with spectacular views of the surrounding ocean and mountains and were taken immediately to check in to our room. Over the course of the week we were pleasantly surprised with how fantastic the food was, then each night were offered a wonderful event in the form of music, dance, or entertainment. We both loved the reggae night and beach party. During our stay, the staff always greeted us with high spirits and kindness, if I was dissatisfied with the service, it was quick to be remedied by a supervisor. We had one issue during our stay, a reservation for a restaurant we particularly wanted to go to was improperly filed. When we went to get a resolution, Lew (a supervisor) took care of the entire situation, even offering several compensations for the inconvenience, and got us reservations to the restaurant the very next day. Mistakes happen, but Lew definitely took care of us because he knows Sandals is a property that doesn’t make mistakes, and if they do they are quick to correct them. We will definitely be returning in the future, and are sandals customers for life! Thank you so much to the staff at Sandals Grande St. Lucian for a wonderful honeymoon.
Excellent staff. Food last night at Kimono's restaurant was outstanding. We decided to book a Roundaval room with Butler service and absolutely loved it. Private pool and spa plus a beautiful room was the best stay we have ever had. As you can see sunsets into the ocean were not necessary. The colors at and after sunset were epic.
Got married in September. Decided to take the honeymoon here at sandals st lucian Grande. The place was amazing. Views were amazing. Staff very friendly. Big shout out to your best employee Peter that worked the pool bar everyday I was there. He's not your best employee cause he mixes the best drinks. His personality is amazing and made my wife and I feel so welcome here. He deserves to run the entire place
It was an amazing trip. 9/10. Here are my ideas to where it could improve;
1. Better customer service. No one went above and beyond and we didn’t feel important considering how expensive this trip was. Tell them you are on your honeymoon. They will treat you better.
2. They solicit you like crazy. Not just Sandals staff but also people on the beach.
3. The drives suck. It’s a long drive from the airport and to other resorts. The roads are twisty and they drive pretty crazy
4. Really expensive. The trip and anything you want to buy
Best honeymoon experience we could have ever expected! The people, the food, the beach, the pool, the service; it was all amazing! We highly recommend doing “Club” level which includes room service and drinks in the room. The Club Sandals office is really helpful for booking excursions, answering questions, and getting oriented with the resort. Nightly events were very entertaining. Restaurants were awesome, just book all reservations on day 1. I recommend doing the helicopter transfer to the resort, and take the shuttle back to the airport. Highly recommended by my wife and I.
Wonderful place! All inclusive food, drinks and water sports. There are no kids here. This place is a popular destination for honeymoons and anniversaries. The staff are all great with a smile and a hello or good morning!
Hands down amazing. The staff is what really makes this place. From the Dive shop to the bar tenders and especially the butlers this place is amazing. We went for the low cost rooms for the first part of the vacation and really enjoyed the resort. Sooo much to do. Good food, water sports, relaxing, drinking whatever we wanted. Then we finished off with the Over Water Bungalow and it was amazing. The service is beyond belief. Anything we wanted they would make happen. The Butlers even meet is in town on there day off to show us around and went hiking with us. Above and beyond. The only word of caution is do not let anyone carry your bags at the airport. They look legit but they are not part of sandals and are just trying to take your money.
We came to St. Lucia grande on our honeymoon and we're kind of disappointed. The room was nice enough, clean, bed comfortable. The scenery is beautiful, I could wake up to this view everyday. The issue for us laid in the service for the staff. Many of the waitresses and staff treat you as if you are a huge inconvenience. Does not matter how nice you are to them. They aren't working for a tip, so it doesn't make a difference if they are nice or not. The food at the restaurants you don't need reservations for is just good, not all that great. The places you need reservations for has amazing food. It took till our 3rd night to find a dessert that was tasty. If you are going to come to this resort, don't bother getting club level, room service is a joke. The "Caribbean chocolate cake" is really just sheet cake with whipped chocolate frosting. The JJs speed boat tour was awesome. Don't drink too much of the rum punch or you will be asleep by 330. We probably wouldn't recommend this resort or return but we made the best of it.
My wife and I came here for our Honeymoon. This island is absolutely stunning with a lot of fun stuff to do. As far as the Sandals goes, it was quite nice, but definitely not 5 full stars. The room was okay, but nothing spectacular. I must say the food was definitely 5 stars!! The resort itself is a bit weathered, but still nice. Entertainment staff was absolutely incredible. Would definitely go back.
This is not a 5 star resort, those of you that think it is are delusional. We would give it a 3-3.5 star.
This was our honeymoon, a once in a lifetime event and we came back not missing this place at all and cried at the fact that we spent our Wedding money that could have gone to our house instead to this overpriced resort.
Where do I start...
1) Rooms- poor. Mattress is old and uncomfortable, an old non pillow top coil mattress with cotton pillows!! please sandals don't spring for a pillow top or feather pillows here, no that would just be too much. Fridge was broken, reluctant to fix, sliding door fell off tracks and landed on my husband. Room dated
2) Food- poor to average. Room service was a joke. Around 5 items were available, wraps had hardly any filing. Also at this resort NO LOBSTER!!! surf and turf is served with shrimp with the skirt steak (yes the chewy part, used for cheap steak salads). Buffet same items borderline continental style breakfast, with an omelette station that they don't even attend to half the time with boring ingredients.
3) Service- made the whole trip that much more upsetting, half the time they don't look at you, unsure if they took your order. Most of them are rude, unpleasant, boring, & miserable. We had to complain abut them several times.
Beach-Ok but lots of sea urchin. Not as clear as I hoped.
Price- you have to pay $$ for a room that even stocks a mini-bar, this is a joke right?? this is STANDARD in almost every other all-inclusive resort. Also room service ends at 10pm!! another standard in other resorts.
I can't even continue makes me too upset that we spent our money and time here.
Been to many, many beach resorts in Jamaica and Mexico that were far superior than this and half the cost.
They are also stingy on compensating you for a poor experience.
Pros?? Going home
Beautiful location. Everything else is what you would expect from an all inclusive resort. The food is good but not great. Lots of drinks. Been aware that there resort is a 2 hour drive away from the airport. That was rough when getting off the plane and just wanting to relax in the beach.
Went to Sandals Grande on our honeymoon and were treated like Royalty. We loved the upgrades available with the Club Level (upgraded alcohol and concierge) and even got a free upgrade for a private car to the airport at departure! The food was good, best at dinner. We loved Bombay and Toscanini's the best! Soy was ok. We have really good sushi around us in CT so we weren't super impressed but have heard others really liked it! The atmosphere was more "spring break" than "honeymoon" around the main pool, but if you wanted to relax the beach was quieter. The sand was clean and the water was calm and clear, exactly what we hoped to find in the Caribbean! There was a lot of activity at night and I would definitely recommend JJ's speedboat tour. Watch out for the rum punch!! Overall I would definitely recommend!
My wife and I vacationed here Feb 2017. The most stunning Sandals property we have been to yet. Amazing beaches and great house reef for snorkeling around the pier. Food is amazing but I would recommend venturing into the local town to try some of the local establishments such as Big Chef Steakhouse. Great steak! St Lucia is easily our favorite island in the West Indies. We will be back again very soon!
This place is amazing. I honeymooned here. Sandals really impressed with their attention to the detail. The all-inclusive experience was something else and definitely spoiled all future vacations.
I will be visiting the Sandals resorts again.
We had the "James Bond" experience with a Butler in our lovely room which was a wonderful experiance. After talking with some of the others in our group we were able to see their rooms. Sandals does A LOT of weddings, yes. Having an affinity for the raw power of the ocean I will next time choose a room facing the Atlantic side, they are also less apt to pick up the DJ's wedding noise. Also on the suggestion of our freinds we got a cabana for a day. At first look it does not seem that cool but trust me you need to try it at least for one day. Its like having a second room on the beach 100 ft from the water, you get a cabana butler and can order breakfast right there on the beach. It is amazing . I am looking forward to next year. Also if you book the next time you will be staying with them while you are there you will receive a nice discount on the price.
Stellar!! Sandals is easily one of the best if not the best resort my wife and I have ever stayed at. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. This company gets customer service right. The food is world class and the bartenders will make any drink you want. If a drink is not strong enough just ask to add more to the top and they will add all you want. The entertainment is enjoyable and quite fun. Also the excursions were very fun! We had a blast!
The BEST customer service I've ever encountered. Sandals is an absolute must for Amy vacationing couple, and St. Lucia is truly beautiful. Staff are very attentive, and the young couple running entertainment made our stay very enjoyable. Hoping to do this again down the road.
Incredible honeymoon destination. Free scuba trips daily to shipwrecks, reefs, and all the small Marne life you could want. Drinks are great, the staff are amazing (Caleb Charles made our trip unforgettable), and the food is the best resort choice and quality I've ever heard of. It was a debate every night of which place we'd go eat.
