  This is for sure a strenuous hike, so be forewarned. I saw multiple people turn back because it was too hard. That being said, it's beautiful and the guides are fantastic. I highly recommend coming as early as you can to try and get to the peak before the crowds, since the trail can turn into a bit of a zoo when it's busy. It also means you'll get done before the hottest part of the day.
  
  You have to get a guide to go up (and believe me, you'll ant one) and it's $50 per person to do the hike. The guides tell you to bring 1.5 liters of water per person, which was just about right for our group. Bring some good hiking shoes with good traction, since a rain shower can make the trail pretty treacherous.

  The Gros Piton hike is more of a climb than a hike. It took my group of 4 plus our guide 5 and a half hours to complete the hike roundtrip. It rained very heavily right before we started our journey and I definitely believe it heightened the difficulty. The rain made the rocks and tree roots very muddy and slick, my friend slipped and fell several times. I highly recommend closed toe, non slip shoes, plenty of water, and a walking stick. There is nothing easy or relaxing about this hike so be ready. The views are worth it, you will just be sore for the rest of your vacation.

  Nice view, lots of unique tree and different kind of bird species along the hike can be seen, 1st point was okay. 2nd point was a bit challenging but not as steep as the 3rd and to the top, be prepare with 1.5l of water , bring some snack as well, lesson learned,was going to do the hike without a breakfast and enough sleep, ripped my shoes halfway up,only managed to get until the big mango tree and decided to go down, it was fun and tiring at the same time, some pain on the knees and feet , will go again next year and hopefully manage to get to the top, felt a little dissappointed for not getting to the top, but safety and minimizing the risk is much more important. Most of the guide are from the community that lives there and maintain the trails, they are friendly and helpful.

  Simply an amazing experience. Even with only the briefest of views before the clouds came down as I was unfortunate enough to experience, the strenuous climb is worth it to claim you've conquered the famous peak.

  Very challenging hike, we did it in 1:40 up and 1hr down. The guide will basically go whatever speed your party can handle, they do this 1-2 times a day so you're unlikely to want to go faster than they can go. They say bring 1.5L and they aren't kidding, you'll need it. Yes, a guide is required by policy, you aren't allowed to go yourself. The charge was $35us per person. There are some little shacks selling water beer ice cream and that kind of thing which is great when you get back.

  Good but at times steep hike. We just drove to the village where we were immediately greeted by a guide. He took us to the entrance office where we paid the 85EC each and then started the hike. Took about 1.5h up and 1h down which I think was rather fast. There are 4 stops with different views, the half way providing a good view on petit piton and the top over the whole south of the island.
