No information on the web about $50 / person guided tour (we were 4, it means $200 is rip off). And of course you are not allowed to hike up for yourself. There's a lot of better options how to spend $50.

It's an incredible experience. Tiring, but worth it. The climb up is tougher than coming back down.

This is a very beautiful but very difficult hike/climb. If you are not active or hike regularly this hike might not be for you. On average it takes anywhere from 4-6 hours to complete this hike roundtrip. You ascend 2619ft above sea level, it is like being on a stair master for a few hours. I'm not trying to scare or deter anyone from doing this hike but you should be aware only 30% of people make it to the top of this mountain peak. It is very steep and can be even more challenging if it rains or is muddy. Overall it is a wonderful hike just make sure you are prepared with nonslip closed toed shoes, water, snacks, and a hiking stick.

It's a hard climb even for those who are fit but the view from the top is beautiful. Our guide was very friendly. We did notice that some of the guides with other groups were not as attentive. Our guide told us it was better to go on a weekday as that's when the "pro" guides with as opposed to those who do it for extra cash on the weekends.

It was amazing, very steep climb but worth it. We got there just before 7; they were having a staff meeting with the guides but released one of them to take us up. Unfortunately, it poured down rain--apparently they won't even start a hike if it's raining heavily, but since we were halfway up we just pushed on. In fact it was very adventurous, and since we are from Washington State, rain is nothing to us--especially warm rain! The view was incredible, what little we could see, as there were clouds all around us.

In terms of time, it took us a little over 3 hours round trip, with several stops to catch our breath and take pictures.

The hike itself is dirt trail and smallish boulders half way up (somewhat steep at times), then it switches to steep stairs either carved out of the dirt, utilizing rocks and roots, or made of wood. It's steep, but the trail switches back and forth a lot and there's dense jungle around you so you really don't get any sense of how high you are while climbing.

He's a picture of the hearty little dog who followed us all the way up to the top. Very friendly little guy, and a few times he growled and barked and chased away whatever dangers were lurking in the jungle around us.

Definitely a tough hike that is hard on the knees. Overall it took my group of three, 3 hrs 45 mins. Go early in the morning to to stay out of the sun as much as possible, as you climb mostly on the west side of the mountain. The view from up top is not as panoramic as I'd hoped, but it was still beautiful.

When they told us it will take us 2 hours to get to the top I thought the were exaggerating.. when they say strenuous they mean it 😉 It's the combination of steepness, heat and humidity that will get you. Bring 2l of water person.
