After reading all the good reviews, we were curious about this Asian-German restaurant and went their for lunch.

We got a very warm welcome by Mr. Kaz who used to live in Thailand and Germany.

He prepared us a very delicious Curry, with fresh vegetables and chicken. Lots of flavor, a bit spicy, just as we like it.

Moreover we tried the German Schnitzel with baked potatoes (Bratkartoffel). Being in Asia for a long time, we really enjoyed the crispy juicy Schnitzel, just yummy!

Great schnitzel and warm company from the owner as we tucked into a quiet night in Vang Vieng. A unique experience in town if you don’t mind tucking into a shack, stick to the schnitzel and possibly the other recommendation, I believe it was a curry.

I never thought I'd describe a schnitzel as "light" but Kaz made it brilliantly -- super crispy on the outside and almost ethereal porky magic inside. I loved it -- got the regular size, and could totally have eaten the giant one.

The potatoes were fab. He recommended a beer I hadn't tried before and liked. The chocolate cake was decadent (though on a return, I'd just eat my fill in schnitzel and not save a bit of room).

The space is warm and welcoming, and it was really fun to chat with Kaz in German. I'd definitely come back, and while I'd like to say I'd try the curry that everyone raves about, let's be honest I'll just eat the schnitzel over and over.

Excellent food some of the best Thai curry I’ve ever had. Got the curry bratwurst with fried potatoes was also delicious. Owner is soo friendly and enquired about food allergies for gluten when we asked. For gluten free people this is a must visit. Definitely recommend 🙂

All though of the main roads, it's worth the visit. I had the Thai Red curry and it was delicious! My wife was craving a bit of western food so had the schnitzel which was also lovely!
Great food, great beer, great host!

Very accommodating owner ..Thai gentleman raised it seems in Germany. I had green Thai curry the mix of flavors was perfect for me.
His personal attention was also appreciated.🙏

Great restaurant! We ordered the grand schnitzel and baked potatoes with cheese and loved it both! Its a bit expensive compared to other Vang Vieng restaurants but totally worth it

Greatest Schnitzel i had in Asia so far anf probably in Germany too. Owner is nice and even speaks perfect German. One of the best places I have been to in Laos. Was a pleasure and would recommend going there for anyone who loves German food and a nice talk!

Nice and cozy little place, that operates (almost) as a one man show: Mr Katz takes the orders, cooks and also serves the food! He is indeed very nice as written before, and the place is pretty cool, but some dishes take longer to make so it can take up to 40 minutes so don't come to hungry
The Phad thai was very good (and was very quick stop cook!) but the portion was too small to my opinion. Other than that, very nice place!

Loved the owner/chef. Good German food which was a nice alternative to the local cuisine if you want to try something new. Nice atmosphere and very clean.

Wonderful restaurant. Vang vieng has its fair share of boring places but this is not one. The owner cooks everything himself and when we were finished (I had the amazing schnitzel with potatoes tasting like they do at home) he sat down and chatted with us. We learned that he learnt how to cook German food while staying in Germany which explained good food!

Low season now so I don't think the owner has all his staff and so was run off his feet. The schnitzel was worth the wait. The Thai curry was meh. After asking for beer we were given Namkong vs the superior BeerLao. Not sure if you have to specify or they just don't have it.

Great schnitzel, entertaining owner. He welcomes, seats people, takes orders and does all the cooking so be prepared for a slight wait. The curry was nice but I do prefer mine with more spice. It's expensive in comparison to other places.

They said they had no menu and just could make rice-noodle. It was not so good taste, and it's a bit expensive than other restaurants (20000kip). I don't know why they have good reviews maybe temporarily chefs are not available?

Overhyped and overpriced, for very average food. I think the tripadvisor rating is faked, '245 excellent 5 star reviews' sounds too good to be true, and it is. I went based on tripadvisor postive reviews and the reality so far from the rating. 50,000 kip for curry, 60,000 kip for schnitzel, at least double what you pay anywhere else in Vang Vieng, and the portions are tiny. Food is not special, just bang average, as for the service thats a complete joke, the owner/chef/waiter/washer upper runs around trying to do everything. The owner is a master at marketing, don't waste your time or money, I feel cheated and angry that tripadvisor duped me into going.

Exceptional food and service from the one-man-show chef. Better schnitzel than we've had anywhere in the worldand we just came from Germany. A must-taste in Vang Vieng.

I ve been welcome by the chef who tried to speak some Italian. Nice. An then suggested for a green curry which I must say is one of best I had in South Asia. Other dishes in the list looked delicious also. The bar ambiance is ok even if similar to others in town.

We enjoyed a Schnitzel and Pad Thai at the place. Food was good: Schnitzel was super, the fried potatoes a bit too salty. The noodles were spicy and better than the stuff you get at the "classic" local restaurants in the city. Owner is very friendly and loves to communicate with his guests 😉
