Good insight into the tragic effects of unexploded ordnance in Laos. Museum takes ~30-45 minutes with a short video and is free (donations welcomed). Be sure to also visit the museum in Vientiane (COPE center).

This may not be the best presented display with all the bells and whistles of a modern museum but the simplicity brings home the lack of funding and the conditions under which the people working to clear Laos of unexploded bombs are working. It may have been a long time ago that the American military was dropping extraordinary amounts of explosives on the country but the consequences are still being felt and the UXO should be a must see for any visitor to Laos who wants to get a real feel for the countries history.
