Perfectly situated overlooking the Mekong and close to the night market in over of the quietest and most beautiful areas of LP is this superbly renovated traditional wooden house turned into a small hotel.
The decoration is elegant and very respectful to the original style.
Sou, the manager, was EXTREMELY (upper case was needed) helpful with everything I asked for, so I am very grateful to her. However my opinion is independent of this fact. The hotel is absolutely recommendable! Ah, and has one of the best showers in Laos.
You won't regret choosing it.

PS: be aware that you'd be sleeping in a traditional perfectly preserved wooden house, noise isolation is not like modern buildings, so if noise is an issue I recommend you bring earplugs. A small price to sleep in such a beauty.

guys, just want to share my recent stay in Ssen Mekong. it was a long hot summer in Luang Prabang but Ssen Mekong made our trip pleasant and memorable. It is located close to the river boats' pier. The location is indeed strategic as it is also very close to a few famous wats. It is within walking distance to the tourist streets and Hmong market. Hail a boat or tuktuk from the front of this hotel if you want to. The warm hospitality from Sue, the owner of this hotel, the nice views from the balcony or from the, the "golden showers" in full bloom right in front of this place . --these things make up a lot for a visit to Luang Prabang. SSen Mekong is new, clean and friendly!
