I would stay here again because it’s clean, the dorm has only 4 beds and includes fan, AC and ensuite good hot showers. Very basic tea and coffee, as well as water, available for free all day is nice.
The breakfast is OK.
Not somewhere you want to hang out, just somewhere to shower and sleep.

Friendly Hostel? That must be a joke, we tried to check in today while we had a booking that said specifically (bed for 2 guests) they had 1 entire week to let us know that the bed is just for 1 person and they didn't have the double, but of course they didn't let us know anything, so time to check-in and the guy that works at the desk started to be really unpolite, saying that we wanted to fool him, that he knows people like us etc.. he started to scream blaming us for something we didn't do, cause the booking was perfectly clear and gave us right. In the end we decided to leave the hostel and find something else and definitely better in price, hope this review can be helpful for all those who want to book in this structure. Just don't do it.
They have no idea on how to treat customers at all, Luang Prabang is a beautiful city do not ruin your experience at this place booking with them..response / report this review -

Made a reservation for 2. When we showed up they asked for more money for 2 people. I told them that the booking made online clearly says 2 adults and the total price is given for 2 people. I showed them my confirmation and even pointed it out to them on their own computer! Luckily we were able to cancel our reservation online at no cost. We did not stay here.

Beds are clean, breakfast was good. Management, specially reception (who apparently runs the place) was ironically not friendly at all. I was planning to stay two nights so assumed I could leave my towel on my bed (and I used my own cause the reception guy said they are out of fresh ones) and it be fine. When I came back it wasn’t there (cleaning staff took it away assuming everybody left the room when clearly my backpack was addressing something entirely different) and I spoke to the same person and he got angry and said I can’t take care of everything and raised his voice on me and when I invited him to calm down, he said I don’t have time to talk I am watching TV. I tried talking to him resolve the situation but he got angry again so I decided to put an end to the story and left. If you can’t manage everything why bother managing at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. There way better places in Luang Prabang with the same price or cheaper and better management.

Best value!
The rooms are cheap ($15 for a double) but very clean, with good internet and TV (some English premium chanels like HBO), and breakfast included (coffee is terrible but the food is fresh and tasty).

Can't imagine a better place to stay in Luang Prabang for the price. Location is not too far but not too close to town. Free breakfast is great and delicious. The banana pancakes are mm'mm good. Room is very comfortable showers are hot. My only issue was that the refrigerator doesn't work without the key. So it is rather useless when you are gone all day. I removed the key and left it in the room so the fridge would keep my beer and food cold. I got yelled at by the manager. Other than that, I really liked this guesthouse. There is a cheap laundry service just down the street too.

Coolest place to be! Cosy cheap room, great ambience, fellow backpackers are quite friendly. They arrange for shared trips too. Very close to everywhere in the little town.

The hotel was good, indeed not perfect. At our arrival, we couldnt have a room though we had booked it because it was given to someone else however the host found a room for us in another cheaper hotel (really worse !!!) So we spent our first night there and the others in Lakangthong 2 the room was good with a/c and fan, a good tv, a good shower with hot water (no tv nor hot water in the other hotel). No safe but a wooden box you can lock and a generous breakfast. Nice staff.
About the buses we bought tickets with the White Elephants, 10000k more than with the hotel finally we were in the same minivan that those who had booked directly to the hotelresponse / report this review -

Nice place to stay with good clean rooms. Our visit was soured though as they booked us a really terrible transfer to Chang Rai which involved dropping us at the bus station 2 hours before our bus and waiting at a border town in the cold for 3 hours when we were led to believe the bus was direct.

Hotel is OK. Room was a decent size with good bathroom and breakfast. Don't book buses or tours with these guys they're absolutely terrible. We booked the waterfall trip which was supposed to start at 11am but basically involves the guy driving around town for 1.5hrs and picking up as many people as possible and squeezing 5people into 3seats of a minivan. We also booked bus tickets to Chiang Rai. The hotel didn't give us the ticket but said our tuk tuk driver to the station would give us them. Turned out the tuk tuk dropped us off 2hrs early at the tuk tuk and told us we had to change bus multiple times even though we'd booked a 'direct' bus. We ended up stranded at the boarder for 5hrs this morning. We arrived safely in the end but just so annoying.
