Basic accommodation, clean sheets, hot showers. Charasmatic host.

Proper hot showers! None of that hot water on demand garbage all the other places in Laos seem to have.
The atmosphere of this place is really awesome. Really cool fire pit, and Kong is quite the character!
Kong also puts on a really good tour of the plain of jars. It's more expensive than the other tour places, but he does such a good job of the tour. All the other places do is drop you off at site to site and tell you when to be back at the van to move on, and lunch isn't included with them while Kong includes it in the price of the tour. Definitely look into it if you want to learn some stuff about Laos as opposed to just looking at a bunch of jars!response / report this review -

Stay there for 2 nights. Centrally located, 3 minutes to Main Street, 1 minutes to the market. Clean room, hot water for shower, warm blanket for sleep. Kong is a very funny and nice person, he set up campfire every night in the common area. You meet friends from all over the world and share travel stories. Everyone stayed there are lovely and friendly.
I joined the Plain of Jars tour by Kong also. They are really worth visit. Don't miss it!response / report this review -

Cheap wet dorm, rundown bathroom and free tea or coffee, really ideal to catch a minivan early in the morning. Tours to silk village and Plain of jars among others

Spent 7 days here in phonsovan
Kong is the most helpful wonderful dude you'll ever meet! Rooms are lush prices are cheap every night he has a wood fire in a cluster bomb shell and we all drink and chat
He will sort you any bus and great tour guide even though I done my adventures without him

Very good rooms and affordable prices. The owner is knowledgeable and can help you with tour guides and other things around town. No breakfast only problem here. Very close to market and mini van station. Nice and clean rooms.

Great host, comfortable rooms and a decent social area with a fire every night to take the edge off the cooler temperatures in the area. Kong's tours of the jars site are excellent-light hearted, full of information and stories, and very educational. The guesthouse is off the main track, but right near restaurants and mini marts, and close to the market from where minivans leave for other parts of Laos.

Not expensive for the city and nice accommodation, clean and comfy. Terrace in front of bungalows is nice and common space in the lobby terrace seems to be very convivial and friendly atmosphere by night thanks to Kong (but I didn't try it because I was tired !)
Staff is very nice and friendly.
Close to really good (but quite expensive) Italian restaurant (homemade pastas and pizzas).
They don't rent scooters and we had troubled to find one in Phonsavan. Good luck !response / report this review -

Considering other options in Phonsavanh - this was great value, with a private room with a bathroom, and not on the main street, which meant it wasn't noisy. The owners are nice too. There was a bit of a mess around, in the common area, but I wouldn't complain about it for the price.

Very pleasant experience. Guesthouse is 3 minute walk from the Minibus station (at 'Agricultural Wet Market' (!)). Kong, the owner, has very good English and gave us a great introduction to Phonsavan. So much so that we booked our tour with him the following day (plain of Jars 1, 2 and 3). He also took care of our night bus booking to Vientiane. Clean guesthouse rooms, best shower we've had in SEA, and very reasonably priced.
