It was a good cultural experience, but I thought it was somehow lacking. I think maybe done so regularly that it became just another performance for them. Also chairs not comfortable, and too hot In little room full of people.

I went at about 5.45 as I'd just finished a massage. The girl on the door was very hospitable and I sat with her with a beer waiting for my friends. Then people sat by be and the musician joined us and we had a lovely time to our own private show. So I suggest going early as it was packed. A little hard to understand all the stories but his enthusiasm made up for it. A Def must.

It's a 1hr Laos folk story telling show and cost 50,000kip/person. Actually i think it's a bit expensive. There are a story teller and a old man play the traditional bamboo instrument. The atmosphere is cool and I love the traditional music. The stories are some folk stories of myth and some place name of LaungPrabang. It's interest but because of the teller's accent sometimes I can't understand what he was talking about. And when the show play we can heard the noise outside.

Intimate setting; interesting folk material. Would be better if management: a) soundproofed the performance space so the audience wouldn't have to hear talking from the other room during story time; b) banned the audience from taking pictures, moving around, and being otherwise disruptive during the performance; c) turned on the ceiling fan; and d) were professional enough to have change on hand (duh, don't make it inconvenient for people to give you their money).

Lively and entertaining storytelling (in English) with traditional music in between. The stories speak to the locals’ affinity to their natural environment. That said, I did have some trouble understanding parts of the storytelling due to the narrator’s accent. The admission fee is 50,000 kip (6 USD). They have a policy of canceling the show if less than 5 people show up.

Traditional Laos folk tales enthusiastically and humorously orated, with musical accompaniment from the Khene (traditional Laos wind pipes). Small venue of maybe 30 seats with tickets (around £5) sold on the door from 6pm each night. While focussed on Luang Prabang and the region, viewers may find similar themes to European and other folk tales. Informative, entertaining, and endearing. Well worth a visit.

I really like the way the Storyteller told the stories. Occasionally it was difficult to understand his accent but mostly very entertaining. I really liked the way the old man played the accompanying music. The show started at 6:30 and was on time. I would recommend it for children of 10 and over and adults. It would have been even more fun if there were more people there to see this as there were only six of us.

Great opportunity to learn the cultural history of Laos. I had a great time sitting in a very intimate theatre with a dozen other audiences and listening to the folklore, a rare experience probably for many of you. Go experience.

Wonderful experience in Luang Prabang. Set in an intimate theater, the storyteller takes you to the origins of Laos, Luang Prabang and is accompanied by an old man playing the Khene (handmade bamboo organ).
