We went for the full day trip tour and had a blast. It was a ton of fun being on an elephant. Seemed to be an organized and friendly operation with the animals well taken care of. I'm not an expert on the training methods but it didn't seem to look like the animals were mistreated in my opinion nor did the handlers show any ill will. Lots of playfulness and splashing and a lot of sauntering as a few just wanted to eat and hang out but the weight of a handler and a tourist on the top didn't seem to phase them. Not sure about baskets as there were'nt any at this place but I would imagine it could be more intrusive. Lunch was great. View was spectacular.

Was nice to get to experience seeing elephants at close proximity like that however I much preferred when I was able to see them in Africa in the wild. There were telltale signs that the sanctuary misrepresented the way the elephants were actually treated which made me a little uncomfortable - though the lives of the elephants were likely much better than they had been in the logging industry. I chose not to ride elephants. The staff seemed nice but the experience still left an odd taste in my mouth.

    象の頭皮は意外に柔らかいけどけっこう剛毛。象に跨りノシノシ歩く貴重な体験。

Had an excellent day at the elephant village. The team seemed very committed to the well-being of the elephants. Unlike the other elephant "experiences" in the area, here, elephants are only ridden bareback and have much better living conditions.

Le personnel et le guide était parfait mais je ne suis pas sur que tout ça est vraiment dans l'intérêt des éléphants
