We stayed here about 6 months ago, but we're rubbish at leaving reviews 😂. We originally booked 3 nights, but extended our stay. We really liked the room, friendly staff and location. The couple that own the guesthouse were lovely and helped us with any questions/info/booking bus tickets. We'd also like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Ray (owner's son) who recommended Otres Beach to us. We're on our 3rd stay in Otres, and wouldn't have found it without him! If we're ever back in Vientiane - we'll be sure to stay here :)

I didnt book in advance. I got an nice room close to balcony with an window. The room is big, And so far the staff is really friendly. And i even got help with the wifi i had some problems with. Other then that the wifi is really good to be in laos. I will update if it changes but i dont see anything bad about this place. Its cheap and not bad at all! :)

This was without exaggeration the worst experience throughout my travels.
I booked one night for me and my girlfriend, (who is from Laos) since she still had to work i told the receptionist, that she will arrive later.
Later i picked up my girlfriend and returned to the guesthouse with her. When we went up the stairs, suddenly the owner came after us, shouting :'she can not stay here'. I was shocked and explained that she is my girlfriend and that i paid for the two of us.
In the end we could stay, but we're treated like garbage for the rest of the stay.
When i confronted the owner again during check out, she openly admitted that she thought my girlfriend was a prostitute.
I didn't have any more words after this disrespect and left the place in anger.
I will never come here again and would advice any other person who likes to be treated with dignity not to do so either.response / report this review -

150€ we're Stolen from my backpack, from a padlocked compartment. I can't be 100% sure it was this hotel, because the Lock was undamaged. If so, the Thief Had a roomkey. I was only away for 5 hours. Only Other possibility is, that it was stolen in the luggage room of the bus from Viang Veng to Ventiane. Anyway the hotel is tight, old and rundown, No window. 110000 kip for that is expensive.

spotless clean , spacious , have window, and great stuff , i am 5th time in Vientiane ,and this is one of the best budget places for private room , also great location , actualy in Vientiane you only need to be around downtown close to the river.

Changed our booking to a different room without notifying us, had to find out only when we were already inside the room. At least they had the decency to refund the room. Still very annoying.

Great value budget guesthouse in a very central location (surprisingly quiet at night which I thought was lovely) My room was large and clean and perfectly fine for the low cost. The food was delicious, especially the homemade jams and avocado salad (I'm a vegetarian and that was easily understood and accommodated) Used their visa and pick up at border services which were efficient and good value and took the hassle out of dealing with embassies and late night travel as a single female visitor. Thank you very much Sita and team for a very pleasant stay :)

DO NOT GO THERE, , the rooms are really BAD , dirty , and this time my shower was not working , i came back at 00:10 and the door was closed , i knock on the door , and The owner , a middle aged laotian woman opened the door screaming at me , when i asked a bit respect as i am a customer , she points her finger at my face , she has a bit of psycholigical problems (looks at the others reviews, not the first time) and clenched her fist like she wanted to fight crazy night
The only good point in this hotel is the young french guy , really nice person who made the intermediate

I arrived spontanously at Thawee at 8am, and asked if they offered options for short, day-time accomodations (I needed to stay until 3pm only). After a short and polite negotiation with the woman on the reception, we agreed on a price, I paid in advance and I was given my room keys.
A short time later when I came back to the reception for the wifi password, another (younger) woman - apparently the owner - was in the reception and she rudely asked who I was. I explained I had earlier dealt with another receptionist (which she told me was her mother) and struck a deal for a short stay until 3PM on the same day. The woman then got super rude, saying that the agreed price was not possible, and I told her a contract had been already done. Once back to my room, she comes in a fit of rage using threatening words, suggesting she would call the police to "kick me out" if I didnt leave in 10 minutes. She rudely trew the money I had paid inside the room. I packed my things and left immediately.
Things for the prospective guest to know: (1) Dont book this place, you will not feel safe with the owner demeanor who cannot care less about their guests or what has been agreed with them. (2) As a global traveller, with more than 300 trips over the last 2 years I felt this situation was quite serious. I am writing a formal complaint to Vientiane tourism office since breaking a contract, using threatening talk and mistreating guests like that do a lot of harm to Vientiane's image. Very cheap but that is all you get cheap stuff. I would have preferred to spend more for a better place. But it is cheap, so if you're on a budget, go for it.
