incredible experience!! hope I can come back one day.
Really awesome experience. Elephants looks really happy in their own environment and respected by humans. Really nice landscape and our bungalows were clean, I fully recommend !
Did the 2 day discovery and really enjoyed it. The bungalow was amazing and we had a good nights sleep. Love the work the ECC do and it was nice to say hello to a few of the elephants.
I’ve expended two nights at the center and it’s going to be an unforgettable experience. I’ve learnt a lot about this amazing creatures. The team is impressive and very friendly. The program’s approach is to follow and observe the elephants in their routine and their environment: the forest. I liked elephants before my visit. Now I love them :))
After a bit of research, chose this organisation for the dollars to be spent at. Passionate staff, is an understatement and beautiful is and inadequate word.
Sensibly presented as a package, beginning with a minivan pick up from the Luang Prabang Post Office. Two and a half hours has you at Namteg Lake, Sayyabouri. A lunch, a walk, an introduction to elephants (viewed from across the water)
All designed to introduce you slowly to the surrounds and their inhabitants.
We opted for the 3 day package and I can highly recommend it. Do your own research, go with an open mind and enjoy
Amazing for good thing and good idea for next generation more this project due to support nature
If you are looking to the possibility to see elephants, this is the right choice.
It is also the right choice if you are willing to to something good for this animals and the environment.
Do not choose the "elephants riding" proposes by all touristic agency. You have no idea what happens to this animals -in via d'estinzione in those places..
At ECC you will understand a lot about those beautiful pachiderms in a good way, and you can help their amazing project to save them. You will be happy to spend those 200$+ for the 2+ days.
If you are in Laos you cannot miss it. Two days really worth the trip, and you will be sad not to have more time to spend there.
If you are a biologist or veterinary, cantact them, they will be happy to get some support for their big aim.
Appreciate the experience and the chance given to help as a little person.
Save the elefants . It's Worth it
Lieu interessant qui s emploi à protéger les éléphant d asie.
Fantastic centre. Basic but comfortable accommodation. Good food. Good guides and a great educational program for visitors. A bit more expensive than some other options in Laos but well worth it to use your holiday to contribute to the conservation efforts
Superb place with an awesome crew. Way better than a common elephant camp. Important: no riding policy!
They do it well
Our stay at the Elephant Conservation Center was remarkable! We spent a long time searching around Luang Prabang for the "Elephant" experience that was the most eco-friendly, caring and respectful of the animals. As soon as we set foot in their office (say hi to Celine), we knew that ECC was the one : rather than taking the elephants away from their natural home to us, they took us to them.
We joined the 3D/2N Exploration program and, two days later, off we left to see our first (baby) elephant and so many more giants! The location is a wonderful forested peninsula diving into a lake - where we got the chance to watch the elephants bath. Accommodation is in cute bamboo bungalows with private terrace. The staff is always ready to help and the cooks prepare amazing food! During our free time, we could enjoy a beer in their restaurant, go kayaking or enjoy the sunset. We even played 'pétanque' and partied with the guides/mahouts at the end of the day.
This center is different from most sanctuaries and camps we've seen: their goal is the conservation of the Asian elephant. Through multiple projects (nursery, baby bonus, hospital, socialization, enrichment), the ECC tries to re-herd the elephants and make them "wild" again - in the hope they can breed again.
We were so satisfied with our experience that we decided to stay a couple of days to volunteer! Thank you the Elephant Conservation Program, especially Céline and Anthony for their warm welcome. Keep on the awesome work!
Magique
