If you want that place a few minutes from Almaty and in the midst of the mountains. Samak Resort & Spa is that place. Peace of mind and superb service.

В принципе не плохой отель. Расположение хорошее, чистый воздух, прекрасный вид на горы. Чисто, интерьер номеров приятно удивил. Вот только в ванной комнате не было средств гигиены( щёток и зуб.пасты.), был шампунь и гель для душа. 1 халат и 1 тапки, хотя номер для двоих. А вот завтрак оказался очень скудным, продукты показались мне не первой свежести(((, разочаровалась отель такого уровня и вот такое. И ещё к сожалению спа был закрыт на ремонт. Вот и все вроде. Персонал отзывчив)

Recently built/renovated, clean and spacious with potential to be a luxury resort but fails to be even 2 star in reality due to poor management. Some staff is good while others are clueless. For illustrative examples of what is unacceptable in what claims to be 4-star hotel:
1. Elevator stopped working and was not fixed for duration of the week, guests expected to carry luggage 4 floors..
2. Advertised as SPA resort but booking any massage or spa treatments was impossible because all SPA staff "was booked out rest of the week" even though hotel seemed 80% empty. Turned out that SPA staff is shared with some other location (which is probably is more busy and they can't bother traveling to this location to service 1 rare customer)
3. Phone in the room didn't work during entire stay causing regular 4 floor trips by stairs to reception every time there were issues like few times upon discovering that key-card stopped working and needed to be replaced.
4. When a multi-hour power outage happens (normal in Kazachstan) hotel backup power generator provides power only to the lights but not the fridge which causes small melting ice flood
5. Wifi signal was always present and good but for 2 full days internet was gone, not restored by time I left
6. During entire stay Steam Room was not working, there was a sign that it's closed for 'urgent maintenance' but for days there seemed to be nothing done on it. Would be great to see if in 2 months time this sign is still up
It's almost like someone paid to build a luxury hotel but then recruited some unexperienced junior staff who are left without support, training, guidance, quality assurance and supervision to keep it open as they like.response / report this review -
