Delicious food, but a bit expensive

Positive: location close to the city center and parks.
Negative: looks like hotel rooms were not refurbished since the opening. Our room was dusty, AC was drying air out that baby's skin got dry. Bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly.
Overall Intercontinental is not the same as it was several years ago.

Good hotel with exceptional service. The rooms are far from chic but they're comfortable enough and serviced daily. Beer downstairs is twice the price of anywhere else but you can grab one at 0300hr if you want. Good pool and sauna and the front of house staff are great. Also the lovely girls that work in the bar downstairs are just so good. Really pleasant to deal with and with great English.

The hotels car fleet (black Mercedes for airport transfers) are getting a little long in the tooth, however I will forgive them because they do a good burger downstairs. It's got enough umph to make you know you're eating a burger but lacks depth of flavour. I give the burger a solid 6/10.

Nice hotel, reasonably priced for what you get, and in a great location - you can walk to many good pubs, restaurants, and bars without taking a taxi.

Very comfortable room and environment Particularly if you have status. Excellent area in Almaty. Extensive breakfast spread and great club service. Absolutely recommend if you have club status.
