  This refinery was often referred to as Umm Al-Khair❤️ (aka Mother of Welfare)
  It is going out of service tomorrow April 1, 2017 after reaching the end of its life span.

  Built in 1966, Shuaiba Refinery was the first refinery in the region to be built by a national company. The refinery spans 1,332,000 m² and is located 50 km south of Kuwait City within the Shuaiba Industrial Area. The refinery has a capacity of 200,000 bbl/d (32,000 m3/d).
