Beautiful temple by the seaside. The bodhisattva at the top of the hill is also worth the climb to see

One of the most beautiful places in Gwang-won province. The place is surrounded by cascading mountains to the west and turquoise colored ocean to the east. On the cliff there is a Buddhist temple.
It is 3,000 won to park your car. Then you will need to hike about 10 minutes from the main gate to the top of the hill which will give you a nice view of the mountains and ocean. Once inside the temple, the views are just spectacular. There is a nice tea house with a view of the ocean behind the souvenir store.
This is a MUST visit place if you are visiting Gangneung, Gwang-won province. I don't know how any could give this place less than 4 stars.response / report this review -

Beautiful temple. Outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and Sea of Japan. Be prepared for an uphill hike to get there, though.

It's good to visit. Not like any other temples in Korea, it is very easy to access. Fired years ago and fully restored.
