Beautiful and clean. Good service. Rooms and bedding clean Far away from the village if you don't want loud music, but close enough to walk if you want to party Only 12 minute walk. Quiet and pieceful. Well priced. Would recommend it to anyone.
Very cool experience: being accomodated by the beach and in the jungle at the same time! Sunny and warm during the day, calming rainshowers during many nights. The resort is just next to beautiful white beach and still constructing a couple more tree houses. Don't expect 5 Stars-standards, probably not even 4 - nevertheless it is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay!
Nice place, nice staff. Delicious dishes. And good price. I recommend.
Been here only for dinner and breakfast, and it was good. Cannot say anything about the rooms. But at the restaurant the staff was a little slow in serving, they brought my English breakfast after 40 minutes and it was cold
Know what you pay for!
We spend two nights here around Chinese New Year, one in a ‘deluxe triple room with sea view’ for $85 and one in a normal bungalow for $50, mostly because the rest of the island was completely full due to new year celebrants.
The rooms in itself are beautiful on the outside and pretty decent on the inside, with furniture and a closet. All beds come with mosquito nets and pillows, but like most in Cambodia the mattresses are a bit hard for my taste. The fans and power sockets seem a bit behind on maintenance, but are mostly fine. The big exception is the bathrooms which are in a really bad state, with mold, leaky taps and shower heads, and water that smells like rust.
The first night we barely slept because the triple room was right next to the restaurant where the news years party went on till far past midnight. Combined with the heat we didn’t get much shuteye.
The second night the power was out (again) on our side of the island, and although the resort had a emergency generator it apparently did not cover our bungalows, meaning no lights and fans and a very hot and humid night. And to top it off we woke several times from the biting micro-ant infestation.
Positive note: all staff are hard working, friendly and doing their best.
When we complained during checkout of the second night and asked to talk to a manager we suddenly got $20 of our money back.
All in all a pretty place to stay, but not exactly the quiet comfort I was expecting in this price range.
We didn't stay here but took a short break at its restaurant and bar. We totally loved the ambience here and enjoyed cocktails and pizza. The owner has a couple of dogs and it was an absolute joy seeing them play with each other by the beach.
Good location nestled in the jungle but also only a couple of minutes walk from the beech. The bungalows are quite nice inside but there is no hot water so cold showers which in 30°C heat isn't so bad but isn't too comfortable either.
Just don't order food here. We waited 1hr 20 for ours to arrive with no apologies for the wait. We asked a couple of times where the food was only to be told "another 10 to 15 minutes". We only ordered baguettes too! The food is average quality and overpriced.
The staff are OK, not rude but not particularly friendly or helpful either.
Very quietly place and a little far away from speed ferry.
Good accomodattion, good staff, very good food
My experience at this bungalow was disappointing. The staff were unfriendly and not helpful at all when we had an issue with a monkey coming into our room and pooping on our bed. The staff down-played the entire situation and we were so upset and they didn't seem to care at all. The service at the restaurant was awful. They forgot half of our food and took so long to come take our order. With so many people working there and us being the only ones dining it was ridiculous. I would never stay here again. I will make sure to tell anyone who comes to Koh Rong not to stay here; unless they don't mind being treated poorly and spending a lot of money to have monkeys climb in your locked hut. We left the same day we checked in and moved to Starfish Bungalows and it was such a significant difference. So all in all we had never had such a bad experience at a hostel or bungalow until we went to Treehouse.
+very nice view on the sea And the sunrise from your porch
+ small private part od the beach with sunbeds and umbrella
- no hot water
- not clean bed sheets
- no wifi
- all sizes gecos are ok but mice eat everything including shoes, toothpaste, hand wash, cafee etc and can leave you sleepless
- dirty beach with everything the sea brings
Very rude girl at the front desk, only one spoke with us from the beginning.
First we asked for nicest room in this price, because of our honneymoon- they gave us the last bungalow, had No front yard (porch) only huge rock- we couldn't even sit outside.
The room was dirty - in the bathroom there were rat excrement, also the sheets was not washed, disgusting!
We asked about changing the room because of it and also door couldn't lock from inside. Girl took key and clamed that it is fixed but they did not fixed anything!
She also said that they are fully booked what wasn't true.
House is very poor, had only grids anty animals (No full walls everywere) and You can find Gekons and bugs inside;/
Place is in Good location because close to 4K beach and to the central port, but i would not recomend it.
I rented a jungle view bungalow, not the best one but acceptable. one night it rain and the roof had leaks, one of them just on top of our computer. we wake up too see it completely wet. the reception didn't pay for my computer or treated me well when I told them what happened. I lost $1500 usd and all the information inside the computer and I didn't t even got a respectful response. they just ignored me. maybe I should jump on the roof at every hotel I go to check for problems and buy a subaquatic pc.
We did not stay in their bungalows but had dinner in their restaurant. Food was good and staff was very attentive and helpful.
Incredible place where you can make your dream of spending the night in a house on a tree come true
Huge place with many good bungalows, our is 3 minutes walk from the reception and 10 minutes from the street. Good view in the jungle and big room
What an unexpected gem! Having read other reviews we fully expected to have to 'tolerate our time here. On arrival we asked to see our rooms which, although with views of the ocean, were very basic and had awful bathrooms! We asked to see some other rooms and settled on a 2 bedded bungalow and a tree house bungalow which although more expensive were well worth the extra. (45 and 50 dollars a night respectively)
Both had sea views and the view from the bed and balcony of the tree house bungalow is stunning!
There is no hot water on the island for tourists so get used to the idea of cold showers for the duration of your stay! There is decent free Wi-Fi at this property. There is no air con but mosquito nets and a fan proved adequate. The staff are warm and friendly, the food is good although not a huge selection.
The beaches are gorgeous! A real island paradise. If you walk to the left of the property on the jungle path it leads you to 4k beach which will take your breath away!. Take the path to the right and it leads you to the port and nightlife.
It is a place to totally unwind and relax. Would I come again? In a heartbeat!
The only issues we had were wirh the amount of rubbish left lying about. Not so much at this property but the island as a wholeit needs action if this beautiful place is not to be spoilt by it.
Natural Resort for people want to live jungle life. We chose Tree House rooms with ocean view. Nice viewing from the top t house (balcony). However, our rooms have no air condition so it's quite hot. No hot water. Many 🐜 and mosquitos. Beach has a lots of rocks.
We booked a tree house bungalow for 2 nights. It was located quite far from everything (pros is quiteness, cons is distance, and possibly monkeys messing around in the bathroom when you're not there, so leave valuables in the main room, which door is too heavy for monkeys to open).
The room was clean, 2 towels were provided, as well a a set of toothbrushes and small soaps. No bottled water. *The bed was harder than any bed I've slept in, ever. Almost as conformtable as sleeping on the floor*. As mentioned in another review by the owner themselves, the service is not included in the price, so don't expect the room to be cleaned or the bed to be made for you each day. We did not stay long enough to get out of TP but afaik we'd have to go ask nicely at the reception (aka the bar).
Upon arrival owners were nice/indifferent to us, which is okay, and asked us to pay upfront, which was a little sketchy imo.
Overall the stay was nice, but for instance we stayed at Bongs the day after and for 12 bucks a night (instead of 30 here) the room was almost as nice, the bed WAY more comfortable, and the staff WAY friendlier, so I would not recommend.
During the afternoon, the happy boat and another one arrive on the coast with 200 mostly chinese tourists. The music gets really loud, people shout a lot, and all the charm of the beach is lost. They stay there for around 90 minutes, so just make sure you get yourself out of their way at that time (I would suggest resting in another place, just to be sure).
"A magical place on the edge of the jungle and a few steps from the beach! Lovely food and cocktails served by such friendly staff members', says Caron Thompson.
Very Helpful staff. Aweful breakfast ( tea or cafe with eggs ). Bungalows are very good and on seashore. There were a big Asian family !!! Too noisy and place supposed to be chill. Sleeping late at night and early morning waking up. Wifi is weak.
Nice, but on the Windy side of the island. Lovely gardens, ocean views.
quiet, charming bungalows located at a very beautiful beach. staff is bery friendly. However, no hot water and water was unavailable several times. no wifi connection in the bungalows, but good 4G connection.
We stayed in one of the bungalows at the back. Room was spacious, clean and quite. The "private" beach is very nice, but with a few rocks. It's a short walk to the more spectacular 4k beach, however.
The staff are friendly but don't speak English terribly well. The service can be glacially slow, best to order food and drinks at the bar/reception to avoid confusion and disappointment.
