A little oasis of calm. Such a wonderful place to stay. Sorry we were only there for 1 night. Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was great and so was the complimentary massage. Highly recommended.

We've only been here for 2 hours on our way back to Phnom Phen airport. But it's beautiful. An amazing oasis of silence in the middle of a loud town. Great food.

Amazing stay albeit 5 years ago now. Superb pool and staff were very helpful. The packed lunch we received on our departure was a really lovely touch! I'll tell anyone who will listen about this place!

What could have been a very pleasant stay was tarnished by the hotel's apparent tolerance to sex tourism, despite various signs around the entrance stating that they did not accept this. Arrogant western old men were seen entering the public area late at night flaunting their young local girls and even taking them to breakfast in the morning.

The place itself is actually beautiful and serene and we enjoyed the complimentary massage and breakfast choices. The room we had was separated from the main building with our own outdoor jacuzzi, so our room was very peaceful, other than the mosquitoes that managed to get through (we had to use our own net that we had brought with us). We would have had a great stay here, had the hotel stuck with their morals - the blatant sex tourism left a rather bad taste in our mouths.

    Edit (8/31):
Upping my star rating from 1 to 4 because the manager got in contact with us and assured us we wouldn't be charged. We were also told that they will now be implementing an official policy to hold rooms for 72 hours (wow!) after offering them in situations similar to ours. That response shows the management really does care about customers and takes any unfortunate experiences seriously. Due to the stress caused by the original mishap as detailed below, keeping a star off the total review. However, do know that as far as the manager goes (as well as Alexis for passing along the info), that is a 5 star rating due to stellar handling in regards to the original issue.

    Original Review:
Initial booking process was quite pleasant. However, due to a hurricane, we had to push back our travel plans by 1 week. Major bummer. We immediately contacted the Pavilion and asked if they could move us back 1 week. They told us our original room was gone, but that a suite was available and asked us if we were interested. We thought "Great!" and responded right away that we were. Then they tell us, "Oh, sorry, the suite is no longer available." Why would you offer it to us and not immediately secure it until you heard back?

So then they say the studio is the only thing still available. Having seen some negative reviews of the studio, we didn't want that, so we told them to just go ahead and cancel our reservation and to please refund us. They tell us they have already reserved the studio for us. Uh We didn't say we wanted it. So we reiterate that we'll look elsewhere and to please refund us. They tell us since it's now 6 days out from our reservation they're going to charge us for the full stay. What? When we had originally contacted them once we knew our flight was cancelled, it was 7 days out, which is within their policy for a full refund. Had they told us then that the studio was the only option, we would have cancelled right then. But they give us the run-around with the suite, that they didn't automatically reserve for us until hearing back, then auto reserve the studio, which we didn't want, and tell us that since a day went by between communications, we owe them in full. This is very dishonest on their part.

My advice? Look elsewhere. There are other great options in the exact same area within the same price range that have 24-hour cancellation, rather than 1 week. I imagine the other options are also more honest about honorably upholding their own policy and not trying to offer options that aren't really available to extend the time so they can try to charge you in full.

A cheaper alternative to international chains such as intercontinental or raffles. Nice and quaint. Bedroom is decent. Just that the shower area will flood after a while. There are 2 swimming pools to use. Mosquitoes are all around but hotel does provide mosquito repellent. Breakfast is more than sufficient. Overall, the hotel is not bad.
