I loved going to this market - it is a MUST for anyone in Phnom Penh. Visitors can buy anything from jewelry to fish to clothes and if I'm not mistaken, one can even get a haircut! You should definitely take a look if you're in the city.

Pretty good market but a little slow since it was a Tuesday. All the typical stuff of a SE Asian market. We ate first then went there. Should have just eaten there cause alot of variety of food I wanted to eat but was too full. Super hot and humid in April FYI. Still rather be there than back in the NW USA, though!

You can bring kids to this market, it's not overly crowded and relatively clean. Parking is horrible, on any day you can search for 1 hour and not find a spot. Loads of police are ready to ticket you if you go the wrong way so be sure to follow the signs. Other than that the market has all the great options you could want. They really do sell just about everything. It is a gold mind of items. If you like to shop this is a great market for you. Prices are low and they're very tourist-friendly. We also have lunch there often and find many good options that have never given us a sick stomach. You seriously can find everything at Central Market it's great

The first time I saw the Central Market it had not been restored yet, but it still had an architectural statement that drew me to it. Since those days it has been completely restored and painted in a bold yellow colour. Walking around it and viewing from a distance and then close-up from various angles is the way I like to approach this building, which to me is also a monument to good design.

My partner and I enjoyed the market, we wandered around for around an hour. It’s a bit of a maze but that’s half the adventure! We bought some limes, a necklace, a painting and mango smoothies(which were so good). I was a bit disappointed that all of the silver is fake(which you can’t blame them for). The Nell’s around the meat area where also a bit much for me.

All in all we found it to be a worthwhile market to go to.

Worth walking around, food, produce and other things
Very busy market. Good selection of fruits and vegetables. Street food options are interesting but not sure it's sanitary enough for western people.

Very disappointed as most of the market was shut today. The seafood section was very interesting with shellfish you normally see in souvenir shops polished only these had the original creatures inside. The clothing section very very cheap but quality wasn't great, seemed more for local consumption than tourist better to try the night market.

It's a great place to see the quality of the ingredients that locals prefer. Everything is so fresh! You can also taste some of the local specialties in the food court. Don't miss it!

An astonishing market with quite an extraordinary architecture. Despite being rather busy, the vendors are very relaxed. There is some good food there also.

Best market I have been to in Phnom Penh. Quite large, you could easily get lost walking around, which is certainly not a bad thing. Make sure to walk onto every alleyway of you can, while drinking something chilled. Has everything you could ever need - from clothes to food to electronics.
No reason to complain about the regular haggling tactics, which is the case with any developing country you'd go to. Just bargain down with a smile, and be assertive without being aggressive - Cambodian people might be poor, yet they are kind, polite and gracious hosts.

Some great finds in here that we never saw at other markets around the country. Bought some great knock-off watches and sunglasses. Also a great selection of the hippy pants you see every Westerner wearing and which it's great to wear at the temples.

Good selection of items sold in the wet market and the everyday items; some touristy things here and there. Bargaining is common practice but be reasonable with your offers. Good amount of local cuisine choose from. I would recommend eating at the booths but make sure you know the prices when you order.

Very cool architecture. Feels cramped inside since there are so many shops. Good place for fabrics, electronics, gadgets, food, rtw's and other dry goods. Don't be afraid to haggle and ask for discounts. Layout can be a bit confusing when inside, so be aware where you came from or where to exit.

It’s nice, I enjoyed it. But be careful that they change the item when you ask for another size. I chose a Nike one but when I went back was a different brand.

The heart of Phnom Penh with the old building. It is very well known, it is not only market, but it's also a historic tourist place as well. However, you have to be good at bargaining if you want to buy anything there, pricing is crazy there.

Expat area.. Good wet market but a little too wet when I visited there. Easy place to get fresh seafood here. Many other things available here but not to my interest. Price is a little high for everyday spending

Lame tourist trap. They have stuff but are very difficult in the pricing. If you live here and want something from this market, send the native help for a better price.

I think it depends on what a person is looking for. I did not find it interesting at all as I wasn't interested in buying stuff.
However, the street food section at one of the multi prong exits we stumbled into has a BBQ seafood section that overwhelms me.
At first glance, you may think it is your normal tasting stuff. But the red snapper was done to perfection. The flesh is cooked to the perfect texture. Just like their squid. I'll attach some photos which probably doesn't do the food justice. Must be the skill of the middle age matron doing the cooking.
Any fears of the freshness of the seafood was dispelled on tasting. And we are talking about food without heavy spices and gravy to mask it.
The prawns were costly just like anywhere else. but the squid and fish were really reasonably priced.

You'll find everything here. This place is fantastic. Try eating from the independent hawker rather than the food stalls in the market, they are far too expensive inside. USD 15 for a damn squid.

One of the famous market and also tourism site that many foreigner visit to buy clothes and souvenir as gifts. The architecture is cool. It has a dome in the center and 6 aisles with 6 entrances. Every aisle has a category for what it sells here. You can get good price here but dont forget, bargain!

Traditional mixed variety of stalls selling range of 'local' things. Usual collection of clothing, handicrafts, silver and gold plates jewelry, trinkets etc. Nice place to shop for gifts and souvenirs. Don't be shy to bargain, but be reasonable, they are trying to make a decent living after all :). Worth a visit. Always find pleasant and non-pushy sellers.

Indoor market in historic French building with lots of small shops selling the usual clothing and phone accessories your find everywhere else in Asia. Outside your will find some stalls that sell fresh produce. The building has a beautiful art deco design and it's windows let in a lot of light which colors very nicely with the yellow-ish paint of the building.

Nice, wel organised market. Way more comfortable to walk here than in markets in Vietnam. Not constantly trying to sell you something. Nice to walk here for maybe 15 minutes, not so big.

This art deco was built in 1937 and newly renovated in 2011. The white colour buildings are new from 2011 and the yellow colour buildings are original from 1930s. The airy dorm is a significant feature of this tropical friendly building.

This market is really well organized and monitored by the security guards well, so I can say it's safe to go shopping here.

Large market in a lovely building. I go for the Optician who makes glasses and delivers them to my hotel in 3 hours! Look in the middle area, West side. Went with a school group and found stationary suppliers too for things to support local schools. Easy to spend an hour here and not too far from the city centre.

Amongst all the markets I visited on my trip to PP, I have to say that this was my favourite.
Good selection of items to look at.
But I had a great time at the food section.
It was really a fun time visiting the stores and see what was available.

This is a really great place. The building is an amazing art deco masterpiece that has been well maintained. The market is a true Asian market experience - with everything from the wet market to cheap clothes to touristy masterpieces:). A great experience all around.
