One of my favorite temples in Angkor.
The height and is really amazing and the steepness of the stairs and how people crawl up and down really ridiculous.
It has really a wonderful feeling to see these 3 stupa towers on top within this height as well as to look down into the forest.

Very steep steps! Easier wooden steps if you go to the right when you come in the main entrance and follow it around. The buildings at the top reminded me of something from a HP Lovecraft story.

This is my pesonal favourite in Angkor. Less busy than other sites. Meru style terraced pyramid towers over jungle. Not alot of Bas Reliefs, but lack of these give it a decidedly minimalist feel, like a monolith. Find an outward facing shaded alcove and lose yourself in meditation and tranquility, or just chill from the hustle and bustle of busier sites.

This is one of the oldest temples at Angkor and is believed to be the first built entirely of sandstone. It’s a five-tiered pyramid with steep staircases on each side. There are no decorations, which makes it seem slightly large than it is. It would once have had a large moat around it but that no longer exists.

Climbing up and going down is a struggle here. Also, be careful of the people who offer their services or even try to help you. They will ask for a payment later (we were made to pay $8 each for his services).

More physically challenging than other temples but the view is worth. Be careful with climbing up, might be slippery at times.

Although there are just few carvings on the temple walls, it is still interesting to visit this pyramid like temple mountain (symbolic representation of Mount Meru), and climb ultra-steep, narrow and high steps implying how hard it is to get to the heavens. Have in mind that you will have to use both your legs and your arms when climbing and getting down from the top. There are a lot of irresistibly cute kids selling nice souvenirs around the temple. They have some really inventive ways to try to sell you something, it can be really interesting to hear so spend some time talking to them and trying to avoid shopping to hear more of it. At the end, buy something – souvenirs are really cheap and it can mean a lot to the kids.
