I have been spending some time in Siem Reap every year for the last 10 years (and a little more). Wat Damnak is one of those places that I pass by on my bicycle almost daily when I am there and if the mood hits me I see if there is something going. Buddhist temples also serve as community centres so there is always some activity. On religious holidays there can be quite a lot happening, so then I stop by quite often.
There is also a school and several international organisations working out of the temple compound, so there are opportunities to be involved for anyone who is looking to learn more about Cambodia.response / report this review -

A nice quiet Buddhist temple in the city. There are several buildings and pagodas in both Thai and Khmer style. The buildings are new so you can imagine what the Angkor towers may look like when they are new. There are also a burial site for some monks, some of them look very old.

Buddhist monastery Wat Damnak contains the library of Center of Khmer Studies in Siem Reap Cambodia.

Nice quiet pagoda in the middle of the city. There is a good library inside that opens on working days. Some of the buildings are left over from French colonial time and it is still very well preserved today.
