Staying in the Silver River is pretty much paying for the location it is in. The National Museum is almost opposite of its entrance one street down, the Royal Palace is next to the museum, the Independence Monument is then close to the palace. The riverfront is within 200 meters as well with a gorgeous little path at the Tonle Sap up to the Night Market which is then in turn close to Wat Phnom. So most of the tourist sights of Phnom Penh are easily reachable by foot. The street itself is one of the busiest at night in terms of bars, night clubs and restaurant, both local and western. This wasn't audible in the rooms though which are mainly on the other side of the building, so it was completely quiet at night.
The hotel itself is not worth the money though. It's clean and provides all the courtesies from free wifi, to breakfast, warm shower, safe, very comfortable and large beds. The hotel is aging though and the condition of the rooms is mediocre at best. The breakfast is very poor as well, don't expect any more than cereal, melons and a buttered toast. Staff is friendly and helpful and most activities can be booked in the hotel or next door at the travel agency.

There are tons of other places that are better and cheaper if you are happy to move away from the riverfront, but the Silver River sits in a perfect sweet spot and gets paid for it.

Located so close to the River side Preah Sisowath Quay, National Museum and the Palace. The place is quite accessible. It is approximately 12 kms away from the airport. The Reception can arrange for tours and cabs and very friendly.

Nice staff and clean hotel. Price and quality meet our expectations. Breakfast was buffet style. Location is very close to royal palace as well as the national museum. The neighborhood is very touristy. Typical low to middle range hotel in south East asia.

Superb value for the price. Room was quite clean and comfortable. No noise from the street at all - we were on the back side of the building. Staff was friendly and competent. I would stay here again.

Good service, nice staff, good location, clean and very good value!
I found that hotel on a internet booking page and on tripadvisor. It made a good impression to me and the price was good, so I booked 3 days. The check in process was easy, they brought my stuff to my room and there was also a room service for food. I also booked a bus with the hotel and it was a very good one. The hotel was in a very good condition and everything was clean. The value was very good. I would stay here again!

This hotel is located a couple of blocks from the riverfront, but is very basic and dated. Depending on what you were looking for the area is a bit sleazy with bars and massage parlours surrounding. The air-conditioners in the room don't function that well as did the hot water, which occasionally ran out of hot water or took time to reach temperature.

The hotel breakfast was very basis and tended to run out quickly. Of course there was no air-conditioning in the food area, but they would turn on the fan when asked.

I have stayed in much better hotels for the same price range in Phnom Penh and that area. This hotel definitely does not live up to the advertising brochures.

Great hotel. Good clean and secure rooms. The balcony rooms especially nice. The place is fairly new and well maintained. Beds are comfortable and aircon works well. Excellent 24 hour cambodian service. Good restaurant and breakfast. Excellent location couple of blocks back from riverside but really handy for access from all important areas. Good value for money.
