Buddhist monastery for Monk ordination. Sima stones line the outside. The old temple is just next door.

One of my favourite buildings at Angkor. Bit of a trek u a steep staircase (around 300 steps I think) but it's worth it! Building hasn't been resorted so has a real "overgrown" feel to it. Very quiet and peaceful, we were the only people there :)

Phnom Bok is a historical site that has a long history.It is about 25km from Siem Reap.It takes about 15 minutes from the foot of the mountain to the top.At the entrance to the northeast, we will see about 200 years old sculpture on the side of the temple entrance.

Hidden gem around the region, as this temple without and fence or restriction. You can take your own risk and climb to the top for better view.

This is a must visit place due to the fact that the presence of the biggest Linga in Cambodia. What a pity the 10 tons Linga was blasted and up-rooted by brainless people. If one goes around all the temples in Siem Reap, one can see that almost all the important carvings has been damagedonly the head and the face. This I believe is to hide the identity of the religion, which is the oldest in the world, hoping that the other religion can flourish. But what a pity. Despite of all the wrong doings by unscrupulousness of those people, it still remains as "Angkor The Kingdom of Hinduism".
One has to climb a total of more than 1000 steps. Initial gradient gravel path 150 steps, followed by 632 steep stairs without any side railings at most of the places with the available railings dominated by red ant colonies with the last 200 steps of gradient gravel path. You need to walk past the Buddhist temple which occupies the front portion of the ancient ruin temple. Please carry enough water with you when you go up the hill.response / report this review -

Quite a long walk going up to this Temple. We counted 627 steps going up with some millipedes along the way and a good view of Siem Reap province. Main feature of this temple is the two trees growing on top of the main entrance of the temple. Mostly in ruins. Offers you a view of Koulen, Banteay Srei, Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap at the top as long as it is clear day.
