This was my second yoga retreat. I was recommended this by so many people. It was an amazing experience and I still highly recommend it. However, I did have a few setbacks.

There was more focus on meditation then yoga. The chanting was really hard to follow along with. It almost was out of tune. I would also like to see a journaling workshop or something that allows guest to open up more. It helps with healing or even finding new outlooks and perspectives.

The staff was very friendly and very willing to help with any questions.

The massages were the best I have in Asia.

There aren't many words neededBut if I had to choose Stillness. Self. Silence. Strength.
Spend a week at this place and discover a little bit of what the outside world pushes us to ignore. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you

This is more than a yoga retreat. This is a place to understand what a yoga and meditation practice truly is, to develop more awareness and mindfulness, and to connect with oneself and others. My partner and I just completed Hariharalaya's 6-day retreat, and it was the best thing we've done in the 9 months we've been traveling. Here are all of the things I loved about it, in no particular order:

    1. The vegan food is delicious and nutritious. I miss the coconut ice cream already. I am gluten free and the majority of the food was gluten free or there was a GF option available.
    2. The center is peaceful and beautiful. We stayed in the private room with twin beds and slept like rocks the whole week. They provide ear plugs that are sometimes necessary when early morning music is being played by the neighbors but it was honestly beautiful to be temporarily awakened by Cambodian music.
    3. The staff is awesome and accessible for questions or a good convo or a jam sesh.
    4. Joel is available for questions via more formal dharma talks or at meals.
    5. Massages!
    6. Rock climbing wall!
    7. Drawing and painting supplies!
    8. Coconut ice cream!
    9. Hammocks!
    10. Slack line!
    11. The library is incredible, with a lot of titles on Buddhism, yoga, fiction I was working on two books while I was there, and I wish I could have read more.
    12. They are incredibly generous with additional resources once you leave, including resources to help you develop a personal practice.
    13. There is a big emphasis on a personal practice, which is so important, otherwise what's the point of spending a week learning and growing if you can't take all of the magic back home?

I can't say enough good things about Hariharalaya. My partner and I are already talking about when we can go back.

Went to Hari last year 2016
It was the most amazing experience
There was not one negative in this experience
Yoga classes, accommodation ,food , bicycles, social life
What you see in the photos is exactly what you will have
There are activities from daylight to dusk
You have no need to leave the complex except to visit a Temple or ride a bike
    No unpleasant surprises
It was 10/10 on every turn

Hariharalaya is an incredible oasis. Offering tools and tips on living a peaceful and full life, this place enables you to take a step back and think about what is important. The staff and teachers are welcoming and accommodating throughout yoga and meditation + information on the area and surroundings. Food is INCREDIBLE, fresh and local. Many extra activities if you are interested - massages, climbing area, temple tour, massage workshops and so much more. Highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to chill out and step away from everyday busy life.

What is your objective for attending a retreat? You will get out of this retreat what you put into it. Come with an open mind to both the practice and the people that you will meet and experience.

The focus at this retreat is on holistic yoga practice, which means integrated yoga, breathing, chanting, and meditation. It felt there was a bigger focus on the breathing, chanting, and meditation practices than on yoga (based on my expectations).

The food served is vegan – which is delicious! Not generally my diet, but I really enjoyed it. The staff at the retreat was wonderful! The schedule they have at the retreat was nice as it allowed for enough personal time (relaxation), social time, and yoga practice.

The retreat really was an experience, and a wonderful one thanks to all of the people that were part of it. People came with their authentic selves and shared their personal journeys during our opening and closing circles.

    Would definitely recommend!

Staying at Hariharalaya during the Christmas season was a magical experience. The yoga and meditation classes are thoroughly organized and deliver an experience that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and uplifted way ahead of your time.

Vegan food dishes in countless varieties caters to everyone's needs and desires when it comes to healthy diet. Staff members are all open and inspiring people that want everyone at the retreat to feel at home, and they know how to deliver on that promise.

If you are looking for a nice yoga retreat in Cambodia, this might very well be the best option available.
