We've been going to Embassy Medical Center for the past 4 years for vaccinations for the whole family, but mainly for pediatric treatment for our now 4 and 7 year olds.
The staff is friendly, and very good with the kids. Dr Saman's diagnoses have always been accurate. Two or three times a blood test was necessary to find the cause for an infection, but usually we got the correct medicine right away.
The waiting area has lots of toys and books, so the kids don't get bored.
Prices are very moderate. Even the in-house pharmacy is not overpriced. Any profit the clinic makes goes towards supporting free treatment for the poor at Sihanouk Hospital.

This concerns the pediatric department as we used no other facilities at Hope. We went late October 2014 with our two year old son as he had blood in his feces. We took in a soiled diaper to show. The doctor seeing the diaper said we needed a stool culture which he then took from the soiled diaper even though we told him it was a day old. He said we'd get initial results in 24 to 48 hours and then further results a week later. He then prescribed an amoxicillin based antibiotic called Curam 312.5. We weren't called with the results for the stool culture till ten days later. They were negative by the way.

By then we'd seen another doctor and he'd said our son had dysentery, quite common here in Cambodia. Furthermore he said a stool culture was not necessary and prescribed Metronidazale. (Incidentally the stool culture at Hope was $34 and we've since found it's only $2.50 at Saravoan Labs and results were given in four hours.)

So in summary I feel at Hope we were given an unnecessary and expensive stool culture which we feel was to pad the bill and only done because we had the diaper with us, there was a ten day delay in getting results and the worst of all was their prescribing the wrong medicine.

I emailed the main office and got back a very serious and well written reply though it didn't change the problems we had. We no longer use Hope Clinic.
