The Saracen Bay is definitely not worth the time and money. Go anywhere else to Thailand, Indian Goa, Malaysia, Mexican Yucatan etc. You will experience much much much better beaches and conditions there. And you will have better, more relaxing holiday.
Saracen Bay is very loud due to multiple small boats crossing over with their very noisy engines. And that starts everyday as early as 7am and goes on till the late evening. The local officials should really consider banning this sort of engines.
Water is not so clean (as of March), although sand is relatively ok. Beach smells with sewage in some parts and mostly everywhere with engine fumes. Occasionally there are fumes and smoke from plastics, rubbish being burnt by locals, somewhere deeper in land (that practise is so common everywhere in Cambodia).
If you are looking for some sea waves and breeze you won't get it here. But if you are looking for calm water and air standing still, than it's here.
Food is bad to medium in terms of quality in most of the places. Prices higher then in land, but that's understandable.
Juste exceptionnel magique paradisiaque
C'est paradisiaque quelques bateaux à moteur qui ne gâche rien. Plage propre. Genial
Lindo y pintoresco lugar
Even tho I showed the westerner representative of the ferry company in detail, where I want to on this island, they dropped me on the wrong side.
All locals I met were obese, rude, arrogant and didnt smile. Even their dogs are fat.
They wanted to rip me off $50 to get me to my booked hostel on this island and $ 15 for sitting down at the beach.
Basic khmer food starts at $8.50. Westerner food at $16. Drinks tripple the mainland price.
There is just a very narrow beach full of "private" signs and price tags, where they herd the tourists efficiently, treating them like cattle. The rest of the island is mountain jungle and inaccessible.
Most pathetic and ridiculous tourist trap I ever saw.
How low can khmer people go?
Here you find out
Jungle, beaches, bars, what else could you want.
Popular resort beach of Koh Rong Samloem. This beach is stunning. It's pretty busy with resorts and restaurants lining the beach but no town here. There are 3 boat docks at either ends of the beach.
