As Trump would put it, this place is a big sh*thole. At least for now, surcharge for visa ($30) is only 100 baht. Visa used to cost $20. With surge in farang + PRC travel to this country, cost of visa went up. Its a matter of time before surcharge goes up too. Old visa office building is no longer there. Its been demolished. New visa office is about 100m towards the casinos. It has an a/c

Some have said this is the 'worst land border crossing in Southeast Asia.' They're not wrong. There are scams everywhere. It's a no-man's-land without any governance or law and order. The whole area is run by a cartel. There are several fake visa offices trying to get your money. The actual visa office wants you to pay a bribe in THB. My suggestion is to watch yourself and your possessions very carefully here. Also do your research--there's a website which details what to do and where to go exactly at the border crossing here.

Worst border crossing ever. Pick pockets everywhere, bribery rampant, and foreigners are wayyy overcharged on everything. This goes for Cambodia as a whole. And the road from the border to Siem Reap is horrible.

Get Cambodia visa in 5 minutes. Pay in $ and refuse "commission" in baht - it's bribe but not necessary. No problems after second no to "commission".
Long queue in next point to get stamp.

This border is a messtake a lot of care, specially if you cross at night! Many pick-pockets, guys pretending that are visa agents and many taxi driver want to get advantage of the tourists(walking wallets). At least, I had a big lucky that the guards in the immigration office were friendly and honest, but usually, as I heard from other people, they might ask you a little
help of money as a bribe

Pretty much worst border crossing i had so far. Was pulled to table office before this one and they asked for 1800b. Walked out and got to the official place where it was 30$ or 1200b. This office was actually the fastest and easiest stop at the border.
