In February, 2018 I booked 4 photography tours with Angkor Photography Tours. Each tour was different and very unique. I highly recommend Laurent who is an excellent photographer and teacher. His calm and positive approach shows you how to change you view, your angle and your lighting in order to capture the most of very shot. I would have missed out on the majority of my shots if he had not shown me the unique carvings and shadows that are in plain sight and yet hidden from view!

While most people come to Cambodia for the temples, it would be a shame to miss out seeing the people and countryside on another 1/2 day tour.

I am very sorry that I did not take an editing class with Laurent because I came back to Dallas with so many shots that it may take me 6 months to edit them all. I will be back and you will love the personalized experience.

Laurent is a wonderful guide. I just spent 2 nights in Siem Reap and I couldn’t believe how much I had seen & experienced in this limited time!

One of the best photography tours you can find in Siem Reap. The tours are run by Laurent, a Siem Reap-based professional French photographer who will guide you through your journey. Not only does Laurent administer photography tours in Angkor but he also runs tours around Southeast Asia and beyond. Highly recommended.

Laurent has a great gift; he knows his photography inside out, but he communicates his technical know-how in a very calm, relaxed manner, which enables one to understand and put into practice the principles he espouses. He talks to his clients as equals, and one never feels embarrassed about asking a question, or asking why he does things a particular way. From the moment we first met him, we felt completely at ease with him.

His knowledge of the area is second to none, we were never encumbered by crowds, and he has access to local individuals who are perfectly happy being photographed. We spent about 8 hours in his company, in a variety of locations from 5.00 until just after 1pm, and then he returned after a short lunch break to share his expertise in editing and processing. We ended up with a whole variety of unusual local shots which we would never have been able to obtain without his guidance. We also felt we ended up having met an absolutely top guy, very generous with his expertise, and great sense of humour too. A super day out with the cameras, and we felt blessed to have made Laurent's acquaintance. We simply could not have found anyone better.

One of the highlights of my recent trip to Cambodia and would recommend to anyone ( not limited to photography enthusiasts) who plan to visit Angkor Wat. My teen daughter and I did a full day complete tour with Laurent from sunrise to sunset and brought back rich memories as well as some incredible shots. Laurent is super professional, knows when to be where to maximise the best use of natural light at various temples. It's also a workshop where you can put your photography knowledge to a practice, learn more and improve. I can't speak highly enough about this tour.

I spent a half day with Laurent. We went to the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Not only does he know exactly where to stand and what time to stand there, he is amazing skilled and knowledgeable with a 35 mm SLR. He shoots a Canon; I use a Nikon however he knows his way around a camera regardless of the make and model.

He is also extremely knowledgeable about other temples that are not as heavily visited as some of the more well known ones.

He is engaging, personable, interesting, and witty. There is nothing I can say that is not positive about Laurent Dambies.

Highly recommended if you're at all into photography and visiting the Angkor temples. Laurent is extremely knowledgeable about photography and the temples at and around Siem Reap, very well organised and professional. Lots of great advice and tips as well as being able to navigate you straight to the best spots.

Came across this service when planning another visit to the temples, wanting a better experience than just wandering around, and wanting to improve photo skills. The photo tour leader showed me less traveled ways, unique carvings and sculptures I would have not easily found, and explained my how to better prepare my camera, compose and later edit my photos. This was very helpful, I finished the day with better knowledge on the Angkor magnificent temples, better understanding of photography, and with great images to share and remember the day. Thanks you!
