I went here with my friend whom owned a boat back in 2008 before any people and development only monkeys. Pity.

beautiful island . there are to way to go the island. Highspeed boat, 22$ for return ticket, and slow boat, 27$ for return ticket, with breakfast and lunch. But the slow boat is very slow and delay, so i recommence the highspeed boat, take 45 min from mainland to the island

Bought Tickets to Koh Rong from the Pier office. Got tickets with logo of mr nice. Where told to walk 30min with bags to pier at the end of the beach next day and confirmed this 1h before leaving. At the last pier various people told me to wait 10min. Until one showed up and told me that there was no boat as the company never reserved our seats. Then suddenly he told us to get on a boat that was leaving and kept our tickets. Was happy until we realized that boat only went to other pier. And we have to wait 3h and also buy new tickets as this was with a different company

Even tho I showed the westerner representative of the ferry company in detail, where I want to on this island, they dropped me on the wrong side.
All locals I met were obese, rude, arrogant and didnt smile. Even their dogs are fat.
They wanted to rip me off $50 to get me to my booked hostel on this island and $ 15 for sitting down at the beach.
Basic khmer food starts at $8.50. Westerner food at $16. Drinks tripple the mainland price.
There is just a very narrow beach full of "private" signs and price tags, where they herd the tourists efficiently, treating them like cattle. The rest of the island is mountain jungle and inaccessible.
Most pathetic and ridiculous tourist trap I ever saw.
How low can khmer people go?

It was a beautiful beach, except (1) some restaurants are overpriced (2) the boat comes twice a day in the morning and in the afternoon. (3) most hotels have cold showers (4) there is no much to do on the Island.

The sea is very clear blue sky. Peaceful place to stay and relax. The best island in Cambodia.

Nice speed ferry but the times are never right. It's more round about times. But it makes stops whether they say they are or not, they always do.
