  Was here for unexpected transit due to heavy smog in Bishkek airport. Had to stay here for 5 hours. A tiny airport with limited facilities. It was quiet though.

  I was here in 2008 so it may have been updated since then but when we landed we were the only plane at the entire airport and the baggage claim was soviet style- a separate building.

  A new modern design makes the airport look more international kinda way.
  But it's tough to wait for flight with no eating service offered in the evenings and nights. The best possible option seems to take a taxi, which is cheap here 5-10$ for round-trip, and drive to downtown in 15 min, where cafes work for 24/7.
