Very small but nice airport. Customs are 100 times better than years ago. Small little bar upstairs with a smoking room

It's a small airport. The facility can be better planned and developed. The security check can be overwhelming and unnecessarily intense. Having gates is a big plus.

I would compare this airport with the airports of some poor African countries. I mean seriously, it's a joke! Every single person was hired through their connections and airport staff is completely incompetent. They barely speak English, they know zero about customer care and passenger service. If you want to experience, how people flew in the past, welcome to this medieval airport!

Long and disorganized lines. Crazy flight schedules too. We let a woman go ahead of us in line because her flight to Moscow was earlier than our flight to Novosibirsk, but we ended up taking off before her.

Very tiny airport, disorganized, inefficient with stone age procedures.
Need upgrades anything from the structure to the systems to cope up with the modern world.

I had to spend the night here due to a cancelled/postponed flight. Staff very chaotic and doesn't provide information to passengers. And when they do they do it very unprofessional by yelling at people. Passport control is a mess. Security control even a bigger mess. Signs are a big fail. Surprisingly clean bathrooms in the lower floor! After Bishkek airport nothing can shock me anymore.

Nice efficient airport with tremendous growth potential in view of rising tourism. Needs modernisation to meet the country's growth targets. Currently handled about one million passengers a year and has the potential to be the gateway to cental Asia.

There is almost no navigation, you always have to ask someone for directions, the place is not structured, aggressive taxi drivers. Otherwise it's a typical post-Soviet airport.

No business lounge, no working free wifi, no entering gate area before check-in opens, if checked-in online, have to go to check-in counter anyway and queue.
But again: no business lounge!! First international airport I visit that doesn't have a business lounge. Including sub-Saharan Africa and South America.

By European means a small and basic airport. Whole check-in procedure was strenuous due to a "system error", moreover the queue we were waiting at was suddenly cancelled and merged with another one as Turkish Airlines suddenly took over counter of Atlas Global, nobody managed the situation. Finding way to security check was not easy as the entrance is not really marked well and when many people are around then there is little chance. Security check not as thorough as in Europe. Behind the security check there is no foreign exchange booth to trade KGS for USD and obviously, prices are high. Besides, there is no display showing which gate your flight is departing from and this info also doesn't appear on your ticket Then you ask and you are told that you need to listen and anyway there are only 3 gates so no worries. Good things were reasonably clean toilets, cheap baggage wrapping (350 kgs), super tasty latte macchiato (300 kgs though), and possibility to pay with Mastercard and Visa in the cafe.

Had to spend 9 hours waiting for a connection. It's not a very happening place.
UPDATE: Immigration is ridiculous here. On the way back, they couldn't process us because they were completely renovating the electrical system. Meaning no computers. Meaning no immigration services. Meaning long waits. Until one slightly more service orientated officer decided to take our passports and process them somewhere else.
