If you just arrived in Bishkek this is definitely the first place for hiking (beginners) and spending time in nature, 40 minutes from Bishkek.

Just 30-40minute run from the city (bishkek).
Things to do:
-day hiking.
-shower under natural glacier waterfall.
-trekking.if you love to do trekking you can go even further & climb Corona peak.
-inside the park you can find a lodge & small cafes.

Try to go to Recak hut (1300m altitude change) and not just the waterfall for a day trip, the struggle in the steep bit at the end is well worth the view you get up there. Don't believe the official hike durations, took me 4h15 return, although that was forcing it. 6 hours should suffice though, for the average mountaineer and fit hiker.
At time of writing, expect to pay 500-1000kgs one way for the taxi from Bishkek, plus 450 park entrance per vehicle.

A really lovely national park about a 45 minute drive from downtown Bishkek high up in the mountains. There are several cafes, restaurants and a hotel near the entrance. Beyond there easy walks lead up along the valley floor, while other walks lead you up towards the peaks. Really well maintained and clean, and seemingly widely used by the locals in the summer when the city gets unpleasantly hot. (I even managed to get some WiFi from the hotel up there!)

Amazing national park, close to Bishkek, with various opportunities for hiking, climbing or simply spending great time in beautiful nature. Definitely worth of visit if you spend your time in Bishkek. Good place to start your trip around Kyrgyzstan.

Nice park with beautiful mountains. There are a lot of hiking tracks for example to a glacier or rivers. Also there are a lot of horses and a hotel there. But to get to the park from the city is a bit pricey, it would cost 1200 som for round trip and the driver will wait for you. But again the park is really big and if you come there in the winter especially so it can be cold. You can come in by car, but it will cost 800 som extra.
