Lovely calming environment.. Put sign posts from Mbita Town showing direction, I almost got lost.. Aside from that I loved every thing about it.

This is a lovely little resort on an island close to the shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya. If you want to get away from it all then this might be the place. Now they have a little airstrip it is accessible from Nairobi.

Rusing Island Lodge is very awesome and attractive. It is very green and have many traditional houses from grass and wood. I also liked their meal fish + Ugali.

For those trying out new tourist sites away from the over done coastal scene, this is the perfect Christmas destination for you! Tucked away in the beautiful shores of Africa's largest Freshwater lake, Lake Victoria, on the scenic Rusinga island is this gem! It is more of a boutique lodge if you ask me with not more than 20 (I stand to be corrected) rooms. The lush greenery opening up to deep blue lake waters is just to die for! They have an airstrip for those keen on flying down! The food is amazing, the service is great, the sunsets are romanticneed I say more?

This is a very beautifully designed lakeside lodge with scenic view of the lake offering both swimming pool and lake swimming. It is tucked away from main traffic but close to the road. It also has a private private airstrip and boat rides offered from the hotel. It has two cruiser yatches complete with conference facilities.

Its suitable for individuals, family or group holiday destination.

Did I also mention the good food and complimentary staff!?

I loved that I was the only guest there but I hated that I had to wait for two hours at the airport in Kisumu before their driver arrived. This is despite me making a reservation earlier. So disorganised!
Also forget to carry paper money at your own risk. We just found out we could not pay by card on the last day. Thank goodness we had some paper money to save our souls.

Great lake views, green all year round, serenity in all ways. Relax to the sound of crickets and waves hitting the lake shores. The walk over the deck into the lake is also great.

Very relaxing and beautiful, the sunset was the best!!! the food was delicious and the jet skis a blast to drive we had a fun family day there!!!
There is also camping available on the premises, a nice pool, and it's the best place to go relax👍👍
